Expanding Medicaid coverage for evidence-based anti-obesity medications in California could improve access to treatment for millions living with obesity, a chronic disease linked to serious health conditions including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and certain cancers, including colorectal cancer. These medications have the potential to change lives through prevention, improved long-term health outcomes, and better quality of life.
