What does it take to live to 100 in good health? ☀️

Oxford Healthspan founder Leslie Kenny has been featured in The Sun, sharing the research and habits associated with healthy longevity.

At 61, Leslie has a biological age of 21 and has spent years studying the science of ageing well.

The feature brings together some of the most interesting research on longevity, including a few findings that may surprise you.

We’ve shared some of the key takeaways in this carousel, but there’s plenty we’ve left out.

If you fast for autophagy, spermidine is worth knowing about 🔬

A 2024 study in Nature Cell Biology found that fasting increased spermidine levels across multiple species, including humans. In one human fasting cohort, levels rose by around 50% after 4 to 5 days.

Researchers then blocked the pathway the body uses to produce spermidine. The autophagy response to fasting was reduced.

That matters because autophagy helps cells clear damaged proteins and organelles, recycle useful material and maintain healthy function.

Spermidine levels also decline as we age, which makes maintaining a regular intake of food-derived spermidine increasingly relevant over time 🌱

Save this for your next fast and share it with someone interested in longevity ♻️

It is easy to treat dull skin, brain fog, and lingering muscle soreness as completely separate issues. In reality, they can all be influenced by what is happening at a cellular level. As we go through life, our cells accumulate microscopic debris like misfolded proteins and aged mitochondria, which can affect energy production and repair processes.

Supporting autophagy, or cellular renewal, helps your body clear out this lingering waste. Autophagy is a natural cellular process that removes damaged components and helps keep cells functioning efficiently. You can think of it as your body’s internal recycling system ♻️, breaking down old or faulty parts of cells so they can be reused to build new, healthy components.

Encouraging this cellular cleanup does not always have to involve prolonged fasting. Spermidine is a naturally occurring polyamine involved in autophagy and cellular renewal pathways, helping support the body’s natural recycling processes.

We’re grateful to read Aysha’s experience after six weeks of incorporating Primeadine GF into her routine.

These shifts are the tangible results of supporting autophagy. When you provide your cells with a pure, food-derived source of spermidine, it acts as a calorie restriction mimetic. This signals your body to clear out old, damaged components and make room for optimal tissue repair.

IT IS OFFICIALLY HERE: Primeadine GF Powder! 🎉

We are absolutely thrilled to introduce the newest addition to the Oxford Healthspan lineup.

If you are new to our community, Primeadine GF is our signature gluten-free spermidine supplement. Your body naturally produces spermidine to trigger an internal cellular cleanup system called autophagy.

Our natural spermidine levels drop significantly as we age. Without this polyamine in your daily routine, your cells simply miss out on the deep renewal they need to thrive. Replenishing your spermidine levels provides the exact support your body needs to clear out damaged cellular waste. This is the foundation for maintaining your energy, keeping your skin radiant, and supporting actual hair growth from the inside out.

As Leslie shares in the video, we took the exact same rigorously tested formula from our beloved capsules and created a highly versatile powder format.

Why you will love the new powder:
• It is completely heat stable so you can whisk it into hot beverages or bake with it without losing any efficacy.
• Your cells can easily absorb every single nutrient thanks to our Okinawan sun-grown chlorella featuring a broken cell wall.
• It features the exact same premium Japanese sourcing you know and trust, including nobiletin from Okinawan lime peel and curcumin from Okinawan turmeric.

It is the perfect addition to your daily longevity matcha latte, morning smoothie, or warm cup of tea.

Fresh seasonal produce provides a natural abundance of molecules designed to nourish your cells. Today we are featuring August produce and the powerful longevity compounds found in every bite.

🥭 Mangoes contain spermidine, a key compound that activates autophagy to help your cells clear out old components and renew themselves.

🍓 Fisetin found in strawberries is a natural senolytic compound that helps your body clear away aged “zombie” cells to make room for healthy tissue function.

🍇 Blackberries contain ellagic acid, which your gut microbes convert into urolithin A. Eating plenty of fiber keeps those beneficial gut bacteria thriving so they can do this conversion work.

🫐 Wild blueberries are packed with anthocyanins that actively support vascular elasticity. Wild berries deliver higher concentrations than cultivated ones, and frozen wild blueberries offer those exact same benefits.

August vegetables carry their own concentrated set of longevity compounds:

🍅 Tomatoes owe their deep red color to lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that protects arterial walls and supports vascular elasticity. Heat breaks down their cell walls to release it, and a little olive oil makes it significantly easier for your body to absorb.

🌱 Beets supply natural nitrates, which your body converts into nitric oxide to relax blood vessels and promote healthy, balanced blood pressure.

🥦 The sulforaphane found in broccoli supports liver detoxification. Chopping your broccoli and letting it sit for 30 to 40 minutes before cooking gives the sulforaphane plenty of time to fully form.

🥬 Swiss chard contains syringic acid, a beneficial plant phenol that supports glucose metabolism and helps keep your blood sugar steady throughout the day.

Are you truly getting what you pay for with your daily wellness routine?

One of the best ways to feel completely confident in your supplements is to ask your favorite brands for a Certificate of Analysis (COA) 🔬. A comprehensive, independent lab report confirms both the safety and exact potency of the active ingredients.

When it comes to spermidine, these lab tests are your proof that the product comes from real food, not a lab. They show that the extract contains the natural companion nutrients (co-factors) only found in genuine, whole-food sources 🌱

Here are three simple and essential tips for reviewing these lab reports so you can make the most informed choices for your longevity journey.

Taking a few minutes to review these documents protects your health and your investment 🌸

More ingredients doesn’t mean more benefit. Usually the opposite.

When everything has to fit in one scoop, quality, purity, and dose are what get quietly cut. We chose focus instead: the exact form used in the clinical research, at the amount it was studied at.
