"My experience at the Secret Silent Sitting Party was pretty awesome guys! I'm not a big meditating kinda guy. It was cool cuz I just put my phone away and sat in silence.
I put on a wig, and a hat, and these glasses to make it more fun... and I sat there and looked at everyone around me... and it was interesting... never seen anything like it before... and before I knew it, an hour had gone by and I hadn't said a single word. I was just kinda taking everything in.
I was kinda lost in my thoughts, and I thought, 'Why did that happen?' And I think in my head, meditation was always this really serious time that you take to sit in silence and focus. This party was about having that silence, then also making it fun, making it silly, and being a completely different person!
Meditation isn't about what you're doing on the outside–it's what's going on on the inside. And I can wear a wig... I can wear all that stuff... and I can still meditate...
This Secret Silent Sitting Party was eye-opening to see, 'Oh... I can meditate and have fun with it, cuz I like to have fun.' I'm usually a GO-GO-GO kinda guy, so meditation was always like, 'Ughhhh... not really my thing.' But I was like, 'This is cool. This is fun.'
I met a lot of cool people... we were all trying on each other's wigs afterwards. It was a really good time. So I definitely think I'm going to continue with this... try on some new wigs, meet some new people... maybe buy my own wig! It's gonna be crazy."
