Speakeasy Tattoo Fine art on Flesh and Canvas. Bookings: speakeasytattoo.com
Los Angeles Speakeasy Tattoo is a place to relax and feel at home without feeling any pressure.

Scott Glazier established Speakeasy Tattoo nearly 20 years ago and has a reputation of producing high quality art and tattoos that have been collected worldwide. The symbiosis between fine art and tattoo art is an important distinction that lends itself to the overall quality of the work. Applying these two techniques, we strive to approach each client's tattoo with honesty, dignity and commitment

during the entire process. Be confident knowing it's a calibration of art between the tattooer and the tattooee to come up with the perfect mark for your canvas. We look forward to working with you throughout this process.

Art night is a sacred ritual at Speakeasy.

We all take turns sitting for 25 minute portrait studies for one another. We drink wine, make marks on canvas, listen to killer music, and simply share space.

It can be so easy to get caught up in the machinations of the world and feel that we don’t have time to create for creation’s sake.

But it’s nights like these that remind us to slow down, be present, and enjoy the process.

We are not aiming for perfection or mastery. We are simply showing up with our souls and our brushes.

A very productive day at the shop. Scott finished two massive pieces - a full sleeve and a full back. Lots of exciting things in the works….

In all seriousness though, Scott is a much better boss to his apprentices than Miranda Priestly….

Welcome to Speakeasy Art Night…. Our model tonight is Leah!

Scott believes tattooing relies on fine art to bridge the gap.

Keeping our brains nourished with various mediums benefits the client, as we create an original piece of art for their flesh.

Consistency and practice is what drives the quality of our work and the artistic vision - whether it be on flesh, canvas, paper, or any dimension in between.

5 words to consider when embarking on a creative lifestyle.

We live in a modern day society that is constantly attempting to strip the creative soul and leave it barren of self thought. We are constantly bombarded with external information to “teach’ us the way, but this could potentially be limiting us. Trust yourself with the answers and remember, there are no bad decisions. We are all creative beings and rely on collective creativity in the world, much like we rely on honeybees to pollinate the flowers and keep our flora abundant.

1. FEAR

Embrace fear and eradicate the negative ‘what ifs’ from your mind. It is the most wasteful use of your imagination. Be the alchemist of your soul and turn the fear into fun. Life can be full of creative hobbies that you can one day monetize.

2. BOREDOM

Boredom is the birthplace of creativity. Sit with yourself, be patient, protect your peace, clear your mind of noise. Release the delusion of time and accomplishments. It may takes days or weeks…Once the spark hits , write it down and walk towards it with blinders on.

3. COMMIT

Be disciplined, have fun, play, create a daily habit that allows you to see your vision more clearly. Often this is not a specific idea but a general lifestyle. Don’t forget your blinders and importantly, avoid discussing your vision with others, just show them when it’s done to your satisfaction.

4. ENVIRONMENT

Establish a creative sacred space, a realm, even if its the corner of a room. Keep it clear of anything or anyone that might disrupt its path. Name it and make sure it’s always ready for you to step in to either create or just be away from the noise.

5. FAIL

Allow yourself to fail as much as needed. Start over until you unite with the version of your creative self that is operating in the highest vibration and reaching full potential.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

Listen to a lot of Pink Floyd and don’t reach for the secret too soon :)

You are who you hang out with.

When trying to find yourself, avoid using a map.

This message will self destruct after injected.

Good luck.
