A message for those, and the parents of those, that DO NOT HAVE to live with or manage food allergies..

When my sister died from her food allergy in 2018 at the age of 30, I did a media tour across Canada for food allergy awareness — this segment with Toronto’s CP24 Toronto's Breaking News & to discuss the topic of in your preparations — snack and lunch preparations, adherence of the allergen restrictions in schools, and bullying.

FARE is excited to share that Target has launched an Allergen Friendly Foods page just in time for back to school! This curated selection features products with on-pack statements that they or their facility are free from at least one of the FDA-recognized Top 9 allergens. It’s a welcome step toward making grocery shopping easier for families managing food allergies. Remember to always check every label for the most accurate allergen and ingredient information before purchasing. https://www.target.com/c/allergen-friendly-foods/-/N-xsft1

The FDA has accepted the New Drug Application for Anaphylm, a sublingual (under-the-tongue) epinephrine film being developed by Aquestive Therapeutics, Inc. for the treatment of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. A decision is expected by January 31, 2026.
Why does this matter? Access and ease of use can make a life-saving difference during an allergic reaction. We look forward to having even more options for treatment for the food allergy community.

I know it's been a while since our last post, but I wanted to prouly share our newest partnership:

I was recently asked to join a newly formed Allergy Advisory Council for MenuTrinfo, a one-of-a-kind certification program — Certified Free From (CFF) Allergens — for consumer-packaged goods (CPG) and food manufacturers that want to offer 100% allergen-free products to customers.

I'm proud to have been asked, not only as the founder of our organization, but also as a former chef, restaurateur and hospitality professional - providing insight into the inner-workings of foodservice operations, food retail, and overall related products and services.

I am looking forward to convening in Chicago next week during the Center for Food Allergy and Asthma Research Conference to meet with our fellow council members from across the Nation!

FATE is described in the dictionary as “events beyond your control”...

The FATE Initiative’s mantra is: “Taking Control of Events Beyond Your Control”

This is a high-impact educational forum on the severity of food-related allergies. The forum contains research-based facts and information led by medical professionals from ground zero and includes dietary and lifestyle scenarios that we take for granted, every single day. Most importantly, the forum will include epinephrine injection training, how-to and what to do, action & reaction, life-saving tactics as well as general education for present day living.

Because it is necessary. Because IT IS A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH.
