The John Douglas French Alzheimer’s Foundation Our focus is 100% on research promising to accelerate the finding of a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

It is The Foundation’s objective to expedite the day, either individually or in a collaborative effort, when we can delay the onset and advancement of, or find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.

We provide seed money for novel and innovative “pilot projects” that otherwise would not be funded through pharmaceutical or governmental grants. These exciting projects have the potential to uncover new pathways to solve the mystery of Alzheimer’s disease.

General information

We like to think of ourselves as “venture catalysts” in that we provide the seed money for these projects and then we approach the general public and the private sector to replenish those funds – much the same as venture capitalists do when a company they have invested in goes public. However, in our situation, we don’t make a profit. We take these monies and reinvest them in new projects of promise, much in the way they were originally invested. In this manner, we can keep our research funds circulating with maximum leverage. Helping us to execute this strategy at optimal levels is keeping our operating costs under 10%, which is among the lowest of all foundations.
