When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.

But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. — 1 Corinthians 2:13-14 (NLT)

1. Bring awareness to the thought without coming into agreement with it.

Example:
Instead of, “I am anxious” say, “I am currently noticing thoughts that are causing me to feel anxious.”

This allows you to bring attention to the underlying thoughts causing you to feel a certain way, without your feelings becoming your identity.

2. Take every thought captive.

Write it down ✍🏻 physically, on a piece of paper. This takes it out of your head and turns it into something tangible, helping you to see it for what it is.

3. Repent and/or rebuke.

Repent for coming into agreement with a lie, then rebuke the lie.

4. Make it obedient to Christ.

Write down the inverse truth of the lie you identified.

5. Pray truth over yourself.

NOT LIKE THIS, “Please God, give me power and strength to overcome this 😩”

He already gave you power and strength (2 Timothy 1:7, Philippians 4:13). You just need to come into agreement with it and receive it.

So like this, “God, THANK YOU for giving me power over the enemy and the strength to overcome this. It is in my weakness that Your strength is revealed. Thank you for your grace. I come into agreement with (truth) and banish (the lie) from ever entering my mind again. I am yours Lord. And it is in your name I pray, amen.”

Simple. Now go be powerful.
