You don’t have a discipline problem, you have an IDENTITY problem.
All of our habits flow downstream from what we believe.
So if you believe that:
your body doesn’t matter as long as your heart is right with God (it’s not btw… God actually wants you to be healthy)…
that physical health is vanity…
that you’re too far gone, too busy, too broken, too injured, too sick, too tired to make some healthy changes…
Then you will treat your body like an afterthought.
You’ll skip the training, eat whatever’s convenient, run on poor sleep... and then blame it on something outside of you.
“But this *special condition/diagnosis* I have…”
“But I’m too old…”
“But I don’t have time…”
“But my job…”
“But idk what to do…”
“But my hormones/metabolism/genetics…”
“But my kids…”
Stop it. You sound like a fool.
Playing victim to your circumstances.
And deep down, you know it.
The real issue isn’t your schedule.
It isn’t your injury.
It isn’t your diagnosis.
And it certainly isn’t your kids or significant other.
It’s what you believe about yourself — and what you believe God created you for. He chose you, you know…
Because men who believe they are called, act like they have been called, sent out on a mission.
Men who believe their body is a temple, treat it like one.
Men who believe they were made for more, stop accepting less.
Men who believe it’s their responsibility to protect and serve their family and all of God’s people, train so they’re able to.
The excuse is just the symptom. The belief is the root.
And until you deal with the root, you’ll keep watering the same dead fruit — more shame, more guilt, more repeated cycles, more “I’ll start Monday.”
God didn’t save you to survive.
He saved you to THRIVE!
He formed you to be deployed - to be a disciple of Christ - leading by example - ON PURPOSE!
Strong mind.
Strong body.
Strong spirit.
Fit for whatever He puts in front of you.
This starts with getting radically honest with yourself about what you believe.
