PulseWave isn’t for every type of pain—and that’s important.

PulseWave shockwave therapy uses acoustic pressure waves to deliver mechanical energy to targeted tissues. It’s different from a massage gun, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation.

Shockwave therapy has been studied for several musculoskeletal conditions, particularly certain persistent tendon and soft-tissue problems. Depending on the individual patient, it may be considered for conditions such as:

• Plantar fasciopathy / persistent heel pain
• Achilles tendinopathy
• Patellar tendinopathy
• Tennis elbow
• Certain shoulder tendinopathies

But the machine itself isn’t the treatment plan.

At Re-LAX Chiropractic + Wellness, we first evaluate what may actually be causing your symptoms and determine whether PulseWave—or another approach—is appropriate for you.

The goal is simple: the right treatment for the right condition, not the same treatment for every pain.

Your screen position can make a big difference in how your neck feels after a long workday.

When your screen sits too low, you may spend long periods looking downward. That position isn't inherently “bad,” but staying there for hours can increase the demand on the muscles that support your head and may contribute to neck and shoulder fatigue or discomfort.

Try this at your desk:

• Raise your monitor so you can view it comfortably without constantly looking down.
• Keep frequently used items within easy reach.
• If you're using a laptop for long periods, consider a laptop stand with a separate keyboard and mouse.
• Most importantly, don't stay frozen in one position—change positions and take regular movement breaks.

You don't need “perfect posture” all day. **A comfortable setup + regular movement is a much more realistic goal.**

If neck discomfort continues despite changing your workstation or you develop pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness into your arm or hand, consider having it properly evaluated.

Feel that bump where your neck meets your upper back? It’s often C7, the seventh cervical vertebra—but knowing its name is only part of the story.

C7 is an important anatomical landmark near the transition between your neck and upper back. Healthcare professionals can use landmarks in this region to help orient a neck and upper-back examination.

If you're experiencing neck or upper-back pain, an evaluation may look at more than just where it hurts. Neck movement, muscle function, strength, sensation, reflexes, and symptom patterns can all provide useful information about what may be contributing to your discomfort.

And an interesting anatomy fact: the most prominent bump isn’t C7 in everyone. T1 or another nearby vertebra may be more noticeable, depending on the person.

Your spine isn’t just a stack of bones—each region works together to support movement and protect important neurological structures.

Did you know your spine isn't supposed to be perfectly straight?

A healthy spine has three natural curves that work together to help your body stay balanced, absorb everyday forces, and move efficiently. These curves are a normal part of your body's design and play an important role in supporting activities like walking, lifting, bending, and turning.

It's important to remember that everyone's spine is unique. Having natural curves doesn't mean you'll have pain, and changes in spinal curvature don't automatically mean something is wrong. If you're experiencing persistent neck or back pain, stiffness, or changes in posture, a thorough evaluation can help identify what may be contributing to your symptoms.

At Re-LAX Chiropractic + Wellness, our goal is to help you understand how your body moves so we can create a personalized care plan based on your individual needs.

Does your baby seem to prefer looking in one direction or have difficulty turning their head the other way?

This may be a sign of Torticollis, a condition involving tightness in the neck muscles that can cause a baby's head to tilt to one side or make turning in one direction more difficult.

Some signs parents may notice include:

Always looking toward the same side
Head tilted to one side
Difficulty turning the head both ways
Trouble comfortably feeding from one side
Developing a flat spot on one side of the head

Early evaluation can help determine what's causing the limited movement and what type of care may be appropriate for your baby.

At Re-LAX, we provide gentle, age-appropriate chiropractic care for infants based on each baby's individual needs 💙

Many people think sciatica is the problem.

In reality, Sciatica is a symptom—not a diagnosis.

The pain, numbness, tingling, or burning that travels down your leg is often the result of irritation or compression of one or more of the nerve roots that eventually form the sciatic nerve.

That's why two people with "sciatica" may have completely different underlying causes.

Some cases are related to a herniated disc, while others may be caused by spinal stenosis, degenerative changes, piriformis syndrome, or spondylolisthesis.

Because the causes can vary, the right treatment starts with identifying **what's actually causing the nerve irritation** rather than simply trying to mask the pain.

If your symptoms are persistent, worsening, or interfering with your daily activities, a thorough evaluation can help determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific condition.

Sciatica often doesn't happen overnight.

Many people go through stages before symptoms become severe enough to affect their daily life.

Stage 1: Occasional low back discomfort

Stage 2: Pain starts traveling into the buttock or down the leg

Stage 3: Numbness, tingling, burning sensations, or weakness

The longer a nerve remains irritated, the more it can impact everyday activities such as walking, sitting, exercising, and sleeping comfortably.

That's why it's important not to ignore the early warning signs.

Remember: sciatica is a symptom, not a diagnosis.

Understanding what's causing the nerve irritation is the first step toward finding the right treatment approach.
