Cardamom

AKA. The Queen of Spices. Originating from Southern India, cardamom contains Vitamin C, niacin, magnesium, and potassium. In Ayurvedic practices it’s used to treat urinary tract disorders and to lower sugar levels because of how antibacterial it is. You’ll also find it in homeopathic toothpaste (again, because it’s got amazing antibacterial and breath-freshening qualities).

Due to it thriving in warm & sunny weather, lavender has been found in the southern part of Europe as well as around the Mediterranean region, tropical areas of Africa, southern India, and modern day Iraq.
In Ayurvedic practices, lavender is considered to have a soothing, calming, and cooling energy. It is viewed as beneficial for all three doshas: vata, pitta and kapha.

An evergreen shrub that is apart of the nightshade family, Ashwagandha, grows in the subcontinent, the Middle East, and in southern Africa. An important Auryvedic herb, it enhances the function of the brain + nervous system, known for improving memory. It’s also known to better reproductive system functioning, promoting healthy sexual and reproductive health.

In Ayurvedic beauty practices, Ashwagandha is a natural vitamin A (not claiming it to be a retinol) and helps manage skin stress as well as anti-inflammatory symptoms. This helps to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, blemishes and dark spots.
