How to survive adulting… from a holistic perspective. 😅
At some point, we have to stop moving through life as though our bodies are still 22.
Stretch. Warm up. Build your way back into intensity. Your mind may remember what you used to be able to do, while your Achilles and hamstrings may have a very different opinion.
Here are the basics that become increasingly important as we get older:
✨ Stretch + warm up before you go all in
💩 Pooping is your friend — fiber, hydration and regularity matter
😴 Sleeping is your friend too — give your body time to actually wind down at night
👟 Change your sneakers — worn-out shoes are doing your joints no favors
🧠 Have ways to manage stress — walk, knit, travel with friends, spend time outside, laugh, create
✨ Remember the spirit part of mind-body-spirit — wellness is about more than what you’re eating or how often you’re exercising
Adulting requires maintenance. 😂
What would you add to the list?

If you’re somewhere between 35 and 60 and noticing that you can’t push through stress, poor sleep, and an overloaded schedule the way you used to… pay attention.
🗣️Your body is communicating.
Personally, I’ve learned that I need to be more intentional about recovery, nourishment and nervous system support.
Acupuncture is one of the tools I use to help women slow the stress response, reconnect with their bodies and create more space for restoration.

As a holistic acupuncturist, I’m reminded every day that you never truly know what someone is carrying in their body, or in their heart. 🤍
You never know the pain, stress, grief, or trauma someone may be moving through behind the scenes.
So please, be kind. Be patient. Be considerate with everyone you meet. Give people grace.
We’re all carrying things you may never see. ✨

It’s the creating space part that can be hard.But…. YOU CAN DO IT!

The health you want is created by who you become.
Your daily habits shape your health. Your habits are a reflection of your identity.
If you want a different outcome, you have to become someone who makes different choices CONSISTENTLY.
Easier said than done? Absolutely.
✨ What habits do you need to adopt to create the health you deserve?

Pain isn’t always coming from where you feel it.
That nagging ache in your hip or low back may have started with a problem much farther down the chain, in your foot, ankle, knee, or lower leg.
When pain or restricted movement in the lower extremity goes unaddressed, your body naturally compensates. Over time, those compensation patterns can shift the way you walk, stand, and move, placing extra stress on joints and muscles.
What begins as a minor foot or knee issue can eventually contribute to:
✨ Hip pain
✨ Low back pain
✨ Pain on the opposite side of the body
✨ Reduced mobility
✨ Ongoing muscle tension and imbalance
If you’ve been dealing with persistent pain anywhere in your lower body, don’t wait until it creates a cascade of new problems.
The sooner you identify and address the root cause, the easier it is to restore healthy movement and prevent further strain.

Symptoms are your body’s intelligent attempt to restore balance.
Pain, inflammation, fatigue, digestive changes, anxiety, skin eruptions, even a fever, are often protective responses, not random malfunctions. They’re signals that your body has recognized an imbalance and is doing its best to adapt, compensate, heal, or get your attention.
When we only focus on silencing symptoms without asking why they’re there, we can miss the underlying patterns that need support.
✨ What symptom has your body been trying to get your attention with lately?

One of the questions I hear most often is:
“How can I start improving my health and, over time, potentially reduce the number of medications or supplements I’m relying on?”
My answer almost always begins with food.
🍲 Food is one of the most powerful ways we communicate with our bodies.
Every meal, every snack, and every beverage influences your body’s biochemistry. The foods you choose affect blood sugar, inflammation, gut health, nutrient status, hormones, and many of the processes your body depends on to function well.
If you’re committed to improving your health, I encourage you to treat nourishing your body like it’s an important part of your day.
You don’t have to eat perfectly. You do have to be consistent.
Those small daily choices have a way of adding up, and over time they can create meaningful shifts in how you feel.

Healing is built through the small things you return to again and again.
🌊 Moments that calm your nervous system.
⚖️ Movement that challenges your balance and strengthens your body.
🍉 Foods that nourish and hydrate.
📍 Acupuncture that helps your body regulate, recover, and restore.
❤️ Practices that support your energy—not just your symptoms.
So often we’re looking for the one supplement, the one treatment, or the one workout that’s going to change everything but true wellness is rarely one thing.
It’s the way all of these pieces work together to help your body feel safe, supported, and resilient.
This is the heart of holistic care.
What’s one thing you’ve done this week that helped your body feel nourished?
