How has it already been one month?
One month ago, you left this world, and somehow we’ve already lived through so many firsts without you.
Our first road trip. Our first wedding. Our first holiday. Our first foster pup. Our first baseball game. Our first time swimming without you.
And then there are the quieter firsts, the ones that seem so small until they break your heart.
The first night we slept in this house without you. The first grocery trip without you asking for your favorite snacks. The first time we had to say we’re a family of four. The first time someone asked how many children I have, and I answered three before realizing what I’d said. The first time we cleaned your room instead of telling you to do it yourself.
Everywhere we look, there are reminders of you. Evidence that you were here. Evidence of the life you lived, the joy you brought, and the space you filled so effortlessly.
It’s strange how one month can feel like an eternity and yet somehow feel like yesterday all at once. Time keeps moving forward, but part of me is still standing in that moment, trying to understand how a world without you is supposed to exist.
I’m learning to live in a version of life where you’re no longer here, and I still don’t know how to make sense of it.
You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Love you forever, little Lias. 💜
