Fundamental Growth

Fundamental Growth In-person, nature-based, mindful movement, and virtual talk therapy, coaching, and consulting.

I believe in a compassionate, holistic, and personal approach to healing and growth. I know that the outdoors, play, and creative expression are crucial to development and reaching one’s highest potential, even for adults. The combination of my life passions, education, and career experience has inspired me to merge more traditional talk therapy with mindfulness, play and the outdoors. I frequentl

y incorporate hiking, running, surfing, art, writing, and other forms of creative and active expression to best serve my clients. I have extensive professional training and significant experience with these activities and am able to easily adapt them for therapeutic and team building purposes. In addition to psychotherapy/coaching, I also consult and collaborate with businesses, non-profits, and other organizations to develop a more innovative, nurturing, and fulfilling work environment. As I have transitioned from the standard 9 to 5 job to more flexible contracts, I'm now able to pursue my own creative outlets professionally and am blessed that I can incorporate all of my passions into supporting others in the pursuit of theirs. Overall, my enthusiasm and empathy create a warm and comfortable environment for clients to step outside their comfort zone and move toward their highest potential.

Pretty places heal our minds, bodies, and souls.

For real.

Ecotherapy reminds us of what we've always known: A healthy relationship with the natural world is essential. It restores us in ways that nothing else quite can.

And we always have access to nature. Whether it's this beloved lake I happened upon while hiking or grass pushing its way through some asphalt, life is everywhere.

What's your go-to pretty place?

This morning I honored Mother Nature's largest body of water by catching some waves with the dolphins. And stuffing some plastic trash into my wetsuit.

Humans tend to take the ocean for granted, but it's currently saving our butts by absorbing over 90% of excess heat trapped by greenhouse gasses. Without that we'd be fried.

No joke.

But the ocean can only do so much on its own. If we continue to abuse the natural gifts we've been bestowed by this planet, we will suffer.

We're already suffering.

Even if you haven't been directly impacted by climate change yet, you can feel it in your body, this nagging feeling that something isn't right in the world.

Because it's not.

We're meant to live in harmony with all other life, supporting one another not only to survive, but also thrive.

Heal nature, heal yourself.

So, what can you do for the ocean today?

I planned to flood your feed with mental health tips in May. Instead, I actually lived them, which was the best thing I could've done.

Nature. Movement. Play. Creating. Community. Real connection.

No algorithm, no guru, no viral hack is going to tell you something your body doesn't already know.

The life that makes you mentally healthier? It's already waiting for you, outside this app.

Hold onto this one and send it to someone you want to go live life with!

And share with us: What did you do for your mental health last month?

Reminder that intentional focus on your breath in any form will improve your health and well-being. But for those who'd like a specific breathing exercise to try, I present to you "box breathing." It's a free and easy way to put you in the present moment and regulate your nervous system, leading to all kinds of the good stuff.

We can't control much in life, but we can control our breath (most of the time). It's one of the best tools we have to chill the eff out (aka regulate our nervous system). Think free, easy to access, no one knows you're regulating.

So when things get heated or you're already chilling with nothing to do, practice some deep breathing and reap the rewards.

May is Mental Health month. I'm a few days late here, but better late than never, am I right?!

Connection is the goal of all we do at FUNdaMENTAL Growth so I'm stoked that 's theme this year is "More Good Days, Together."

Everyone has different ideas as to what a good day is, but we all need one another to have them. To do my part, I'll be sharing simple, free, and evidence-based tips to cut through the noise in the mental health space and boost your overall health and wellness, as well as support others in doing the same.

Did you know there are two May Days?! One celebrating spring and another labor rights. They might sound like two very different holidays, but since everything is more connected than we often realize, here at FUNdaMENTAL Growth, we're sharing some ideas on how to celebrate both together, today and every day. May (pun not intended, but enjoyed) we work together to create a sustainable world for all!

I started my Earth Day celebration a little early on Saturday with a 5k race at (Subject of “The Biggest Little Farm” documentary, which, if you haven’t seen, you absolutely must!) to raise funds for school field trips to the farm.

Then, on Sunday I co-hosted a well-being event for climate activists at Griffith Park as a part of . Both events were filled with nature, connection, joy, love, and hope.

And the celebration continues on since every day, nay, every moment, is an opportunity to honor our planet. Caring for all living things is caring for ourselves because we are also nature. There is a wealth of resources and reciprocity in the natural world when we allow ourselves to fully be a part of it.

If you do nothing else on this Earth Day, step outside and let your senses to connect to the beauty and perfection that naturally exists. Stop insisting the world to bend to your wishes and instead float like dandelion seeds through the air. Reconnect with those instincts that we too often set aside to exist in a manufactured world. And listen to the wind, the trees, the other animals, yourself. Then, act to protect so all of life can thrive on this beautiful planet.

Due to rain in the forecast, we've made the difficult decision to move this event from this Sunday to the following Sunday, April 19th, from 10am-3pm. We're bummed but want as many of you as possible to be able to join us for this connective outdoor experience. Mother Nature sure is the ultimate teacher of acceptance and resilience, isn't she?!

The registration link is still in bio and includes all updated info.
