So I did a thing around the 11 week post op mark for my Achilles tendon repair.

I combined our AquaFit water treadmill with the Neubie from . This allowed me to improve my activation of my calf in a real life activity I was struggling with — walking.

This was an experiment I performed on myself. I can say that it actually helped me overcome the last remaining walking deficits I had.

Say tuned for me exciting rehab adventures!

Big shoutout to .salpeter for this invention!

I’m normally not a passive recovery guy. But I will say this High Frequency Vibration tool from has been very helpful for my pain and swelling during recovery.

Just a nice way to take the edge off before bed!

Although I don’t think vibration will fix your underlying problems, it can be a beneficial addition to your rehab. Especially if you are post operative.

This also helped with my scar sensitivity!

Look I’m busy with life and don’t always have time for isolated rehab. But I also don’t have time to be limited by an injury.

So I figure, why not turn everyday activities into rehab?

It’s one of my favorite things to do with my patients that aren’t progressing due to lack of doing their home exercises.

Think: how can I turn one of your everyday activities into rehab?

Well I’m practicing what I preach!

What Dad activity should I turn into rehab next?

Are you a better dad than your dad?

My new favorite thought: as parents, we should be better parents than our parents. I should be a better dad than my dad.

And if I am a better dad than my dad, he should feel successful as a father. That means he did his job right. Does that mean he was perfect, no! But I know for a fact my dad did the best he could with the tools he had available. I know he expects the same from me. To give fatherhood my all and know that nothing other than God is greater than being a parent.

I’m at a point looking back in my life and realizing how good of a dad my dad was. I don’t think I took it for granted but I don’t think I ever knew how lucky I was.

I’m also fortunate to still have my dad in my life.

So here’s my challenge to every parent watching this video: raise a generation of children that will go@on to be better parents than you.

I believe that’s how we make the world a better place.

As a parent, you don’t always have time for yourself. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t turn every day parenting activities into rehab!

So I I took my son on a bike ride and we stopped at the playground. While he played, I did some rehab.

This wasn’t perfect rehab, but every rep counts. I’m ready to be back running and chasing the kids so how can I get there as quickly and safely as possible?

So we did a lemonade stand / multi-neighbor yard sale. The yard sale was an epic failure.

But the kids did make more from their lemonade stand than we did in the yard sale!

Thanks to for hooking us up!

This is one of my favorite exercises to loosen up my neck and back after I have been sitting and working at a desk.

The best part of about this exercise is you don’t need any equipment and you can do it without warming up.

If you are dealing with back pain from sitting at a desk, try this on each side once every hour and watch your pain disappear.

Your jaw pain and headaches aren’t just stress; they’re your body sending a signal.

I see it all the time. TMJ dysfunction and chronic headaches showing up together, and almost nobody connects them to how you are breathing or what cortisol is quietly doing in the background.

Poor breathing patterns shift load to your neck and jaw, elevated cortisol lowers your postural stabilization, and when your postural stabilization breaks down, your neck/jaw become compensators for stability your spine isn’t providing.

It’s not one problem, it’s a system problem.

DM or comment “HELP” if you’re dealing with TMJ pain or headaches and want to talk about it👇

I have been pushing my weights hard lately, so I decided to switch my morning workout for a nature bike ride in the rain (which turned into a nature exploration of the flooding in Beargrass Creek and Cherokee Park).

I needed to switch my routine around to limit tissue overload while still working my Achilles. On a bike I am able to switch my foot position to press through my heel when my calf feels overloaded.

Part of a healthy experience is social experience with others. And for me, I love to share life experiences with my kids. So I brought them right up to the edge with me.

Overall, a great morning of rehab and family time to help me reset.
