I seriously can’t believe we’re here. 🥹❤️ Link in Caption!!!

In just a few days, we’ll be celebrating ONE WHOLE YEAR with Azik’s new heart. Someone please explain how it’s already been a year because I’m pretty sure we were just living at Children’s yesterday. 😭

We have to head back to Dallas for his one-year transplant check-up (which is a huge milestone 🎉), and I’d really love to make it more than just another hospital trip. The kids have been absolute rockstars this past year, so we’re hoping to squeeze in something fun while we’re there—maybe the zoo or the aquarium.

Some nights, being strong looks a lot like falling apart quietly while you pack a bag.

Tonight is one of those nights.

We are heading back to Dallas to keep chasing answers for Azik, doing everything we can while trying not to let fear swallow us whole. Keeping positive and praying for a short stay. But with transplants that’s not always the case.

We hate asking.

We truly do.

But hotel rooms, gas, meals, and the cost of being away from home are hitting us harder than we can manage alone right now.

If you feel led to help carry even the smallest part of this burden while we focus on our boy, we would be forever grateful.

Hello hello 🤍

I’ll be the first to admit… I’m not the best at consistently posting, but I’m working on it — because this story deserves to be shared.

We just celebrated a very special 16th birthday for Azik 🥺✨
We were blessed with an incredible trip (so needed after this past year), got back into school routines, and are learning to navigate this new season of life.

Along the way, we’ve also experienced deep loss. We lost a dear friend we met in the hospital — sweet baby Kian 🤍 and that has weighed heavy on our hearts.

Life lately has been a mix of emotions… healing, grief, small setbacks (all the random bugs 😅), and big blessings — like finally getting a vehicle 🙌🏽
Not exactly how we planned (yes, we have payments now 😅), but we are so thankful regardless.

We are coming up on 9 months post-transplant 🤍
And we still haven’t heard from the donor family.

But if you’re seeing this… please help us share.

Our heart is that maybe, just maybe, their family will find this page one day and see how their loved one’s heart is living on through Azik 🥺

We carry so much gratitude for a gift that came from unimaginable heartbreak.

One thing I don’t think many people understand…
Azik can’t tell us how he feels. Not even a little.

And while that’s something we’ve navigated his whole life, it feels different now.
There are moments that are honestly overwhelming and scary — not knowing what he’s feeling in his body with this new heart.

But what we do know…
is that he is here.
He is loved.
He is living.

And he loves this life.

So we’re stepping into something new —
We want to start sharing more of Azik’s daily life, his routines, his joy, and what this journey really looks like.

Even without words… his life speaks volumes 🤍

Hey guys 🤍

We’ve officially reached the 7-month mark with Azik’s new heart. Even typing that feels surreal. By the grace of God, he has done so incredibly well. There have been hard days, scary days, and stretching days — but here we are. And we are beyond blessed. 🙏🏽💙

We’re finally settling into some kind of “normal” rhythm. It’s not the same normal we once knew, but it’s ours — and we’re managing it one day at a time with gratitude.

Asking for help is never easy. But we’ve learned this year that community is one of God’s greatest gifts. If you feel led to share, give, pray, or simply encourage us — we are deeply grateful. Every prayer, every share, every kind word means more than you know.

Seven months ago, our world changed forever. Today, we’re standing in gratitude, trusting that the same God who carried us then will continue to provide now. 🤍

We wrapped up Azik’s first school week nice and short. 💙 He had a really great week with just a few small bumps, but I can already tell how much happier he is being back in a familiar, regular setting.

His teachers have been amazing so far, and seeing some familiar faces has been such a blessing. We are truly grateful to be here and starting this new chapter.
