Seven years ago today, my mom passed away.

There are days when it feels like a lifetime ago, and other days when it feels like it was yesterday. Grief has a way of changing shape over time, but it never completely disappears. Even after seven years, I still have moments where I miss her deeply, wish I could hear her voice, or share a piece of my life with her.

As a medium, I am blessed with a perspective that brings me tremendous comfort. I truly believe that our loved ones do not end when their physical lives do. Their love, their energy, and their presence continue on. I have felt my mom around me in countless ways over the years, and that knowing has helped carry me through some of my hardest days.

But even with that comfort, I want others to know that grief doesn’t have a timeline. You can believe in signs, feel connected to your loved ones, and still have days that hurt. Both can exist at the same time.

If you’re missing someone today, be gentle with yourself. Love doesn’t end when someone passes—it simply changes form. The bond you share with those you love is never truly broken.

Today, I honor my mom, the lessons she taught me, the love she gave me, and the ways she continues to inspire me. I carry her with me every day.
