It’s finally made it to the CDC.
Alpha gal. Mammal allergy and then some, is all over the news. Finally.

I was bitten in 2017 and all I heard was “that tick isn’t aroud here”. Seriously. Doctors, allergists, even veterinarians.
(I have pets)
But it happened.
The allergy is anaphylaxis but because of what and how, one is reacting, it is delayed.

It can be delayed up to at least 10 hours.
For me, I’d wake up at 4 am in excruciating pain.

It can feel like a gallbladder attack, a mind blowing cramp in your stomach, blood pressure dropping to the point of passing out, and a list of other random reactions that the medical Community hasn’t put together yet.

A typical allergist will do a test and it will be negative.
There are two specialists. One in Virginia and one in North Carolina. (Even the office partner to the one in Virginia doesn’t believe in it.)
Almost 10 Years later. I found alternative therapies that allowed me to eat most of the foods I reacted to — after approx 2 years. 10 years later I’m still careful. We own a cattle farm and this year is my first year around a cow without a golf ball size hive on my forehead.

It isn’t just a reaction to what you eat. It’s also to things you touch or wear. All my alpaca, sheep’s wool and other items in a bin. No more milk bone dog biscuits to the pups from the UPS guy. Had to switch my dogs to a fish flavored food just to feed them. Limited contact for months until I got their diet adjusted. (I had lap dogs)
Grocery trips were in bursts. The checkout line had to be short. Yes - airborne reaction.
I wore face masks long before Covid. Dotted with essential oils in an attempt to avoid the barely noticeable fumes of the meat department.

It was bizarre. I was allergic to just about everything in my system the day I was bitten. Not imbedded. Just bitten. Not marks. No rings. No redness. Pulled it out, saw the marking and knew it would be different. The next day I projectile vomited after tasting my mom’s meatloaf. I knew. (Mom was a wonderful cook)

I was lucky in a way. I knew because I’d red a random article in a health magazine a few days earlier.

So… if you know anyone that is suffering from awful Gut related issues that may feel like a heart attack….
They need a different kind of blood test.
IgG vs IgE.
It can’t hurt any more than the pain from these reactions. It may just save their life.




I am so paranoid about ticks my dogs now wear Soresto collars.

As many of you know, I am in the midst of watching my a loved one succumb to various forms of dementia.

I cannot urge you enough to reduce the intake of any substance whether it be alcohol, thc, cigarette or various legal or not va**ng ingredients.
The long term effects are not pretty. Not at all.
If you had an addiction, seek help. Hypnosis and reiki are helpful.
Increase your I take of vitamin b’s and c. Just about everything from Ci******es on deplete those major vitamins.
Good quality multivitamins can be found in the wellness center. (Or reach out for a link to buy online.) quality matters — but that’s another subject.
