Hi friends! I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday and managing to stay cool in this brutal heat.

I wanted to share the GoFundMe link for Brad again. Financially, things are still incredibly overwhelming for him and Kim. The doctor recently delivered the news that he needs a surgery that insurance unfortunately won't cover, and on top of that, they are struggling just to keep up with basic household utilities and everyday bills.

Adulting is hard, and sometimes we genuinely need to rely on the village around us. If you have it in your heart and your budget, I know they would deeply appreciate any donation toward the GoFundMe. Brad and Kim are already so incredibly grateful to everyone who has stepped up to help.

Hi friends! If you're anything like me, you've been leading life just like normal. You occasionally hit up Facebook to see what's going on. You might like a post and pictures, you might even share one from time to time. You read about your friends and family and, like me, you move about your life like normal.

Like me, you see posts like what I've shared here on Brad Winkles Recovery page and then it hits you, man Brad isn't really getting better and he still really needs our help.

It's really easy for things to fall to the far side of our memory with our own lives moving 100mph. No one should feel guilty about that. Life moves fast, it's hard paced and there are so many moving pieces.

I'm here tonight to give you an update on Brad. I hadn't really been in touch with him a lot lately because of the chaos in my own life but I did make a post here last week. Marlee, the awesome friend she is, shared that post. Brad saw what she shared and there he commented on the post, sharing that his situation is in a real bind.

Here's what he shared on Marlee's page:

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS..MY SITUATION HAS GOTTEN WORSE, IM UP ROCKING BACK AND FORTH IN PAIN AS WE SPEAK. MY LEGS, FEET, AND THE ENTIRE LEFT SIDE OF MY BACK BURN LIKE FIRE TO WHERE ITS ALMOST NOT TOLERABLE... I SAW A NEUROSURGEON ON FRIDAY AND WAS TOLD I SHOULD BE IN THE HOSPITAL PREPARING FOR MY NEXT SURGERY..BAD PART US MY INSURANCE WONT COVER THE SURGERY AND ILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET UPFRONT... I KEEP WATCHING THE MOVIE JOHN Q OVER AND OVER WONDERING IF ITLL WORK FOR ME...

I'm guilty for not doing a better job in staying up to date with my friend and keeping his situation updated here. I can't go backwards but I can move forward by sharing this post and making a plea with you all for the GoFundMe.

Brad, in his own words, is in great pain. He's seen a neurosurgeon needs surgery that has to be paid for up front. I know you all have the heart to donate to Brad's GoFundMe but you might not have the ability. If you do have the financial ability to help Kim Cozby Griffin and Brad pay for this surgery, I know it would mean the world to them.

Happy Friday, y'all! (Brad, Kim, me) hope you all have a great weekend.

Texts, calls, donations, high fives and hugs all welcome... Well, be easy if it's a hug - spinal injury and all! All kidding aside, I know Brad would love to hear from you guys.

As for donations, well, it's time we start asking for them again. If you're able to donate again, that would be wonderful. If you never donated before but can now, that's terrific. If you can share the campaign, please do. Nothing but love and gratitude for any way you can help us continue caring for Brad.

Hey friends! Another Sunday night is wrapping up, and I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mondays always come up quick, so here’s to hoping yours starts with a smile. 🤗

If you’re in a position to donate, Brad and Kim could really, truly use the help right now. Everything is coming out of pocket, and to be honest, those pockets are just about empty and pulled inside out.

Beyond the financial relief, your support is a huge mental boost for them both. It’s just nice to know people care enough to throw a few bucks your way. If you feel like skipping Starbucks today, you could donate that $5 instead.

I’ll even make you a deal: when Brad is doing better and back on his feet, I’ll tell him he owes you a cup of coffee. I can’t promise it’ll taste good, though. I’d guess he’ll get your order wrong—especially if it involves oat milk or half-caff—and if you really want that "Starbucks feel," we’ll make sure he gets your name wrong on the cup, too! 😹

Seriously though, I’m trying to make light of a heavy situation. Every cent goes directly toward taking care of Brad—whether it’s for medicine, keeping the lights on, or making sure the AC is running (and you know we need that AC already!). We promise you, nothing "fun" is happening with this money; it’s just about navigating the day-to-day life of our FHS 1991 class clown. Well, I don’t actually know if he was the official class clown, but I know he would’ve been a top contender!
