Going to a yoga class regularly is an important physical piece of practice.

Yet, there is so much more to yoga than the asanas.

Living my yoga values is an important part of my practice. I don’t always get it right, but I’m trying each and every day 🩷💛🖤

You won’t catch me

1. Calling out someone’s bad form. A wise teacher once told me to first question myself before correcting form.

Do you really need to? Is it for their safety or your own ego to correct them? Of course there is a time and a place for it.

But I don’t want someone constantly breathing down my neck during practice, why would you?

2. Calling out yoga poses with no other cues. We’re a beginner friendly studio. We cue and use props.

Sure, we may challenge you, but we aren’t trying to confuse you! Proper alignment helps make the most of poses, so we take time to establish a good foundation before picking up the pace.

3. Taking photos during class or Savasana. We don’t mind you wearing your smart watches or even bringing your phone to the mat. Heck, I use my phone for my playlists.

But I will NEVER take a photo in class without permission.

I rarely even take pictures in the studio with our yogis because I respect the sacred nature of the practice so much I sometimes feel awkward whipping my camera out.

But I do love a post class selfie 🤳 when we take them!

The Zen Den is a special place doing things a special way because why would I go through the trouble of creating something that is just like everything else?
