I've been working on a new project lately, developing a deck of "intuition cards". I plan to call them "Piercing the Veil intuition cards", and the intention behind them is similar to the Greek maxim "know thyself". Although there is controversy in how to interpret "know thyself", for me this means looking within and being self-aware, finding the answers you seek in the questions you don't always know to ask.

What a beautiful day! Started off with some herb harvesting, then spent the day learning a new skill :) These are four-point stars with Moonstones, to practice my understanding of wire wrapping. :) Perfection is definitely not the word I'd use, but I will gladly claim "homemade" and "unique" as in ...won't ever be duplicated exactly. 😁 Not bad for a first attempt anyway, if I do say so myself!

I love her writings

In the old stories, when the wild mother is ready, she must go to the dark woodland and find the healing place.

In the forest, the trees bear witness while the wayward mother forsakes the good for the wild once and for all, from now until forever.

As she walks the otherworldly road, she grieves the loss of the good mother she never knew and can never be. She seeks wholeness over goodness, presence over purity.

When the wind bends the branches and the night birds sing, she hears the drums of the foremothers. She prays to the roots. She weeps, lamenting the betrayal of her innocence and all innocence.

The shadows of the trees mirror her wickedest monsters and, for the first time, she beholds the greater poetry of her story.

She sees clearly what tired wounds must be healed in her lineage. She senses the old ache inside the bone. She names a new purpose now and claims a new name.

She is without a healer’s map. The way is hidden and always changing, but there are helpers afoot.

The wild mother is protected here by a nameless grandmother made of mist, by a wise ancestor who has seen all things before. She must stay in the woodland until she hears that spirit’s voice.

When it’s time and only when it’s time, the wandering mother finds the healing house where she gathers with other wild ones, where her hands grow back and all possibilities return.

Here, in the hidden house of healing, she forgives herself. She forgives her mother and all mothers. The trees taught her to hold the long vision, and now she measures her transformation in ages not days, generations not hours.

When she crosses the threshold and leaves the dark woodland, she enacts an ancestral rite of emergence. This is a mythic animation of an ancient impulse to be witnessed in her renewal.

She has been remade, and the trees see her.

The wild mother carries with her the wisdom of the forest, the hidden house of initiation, and the grandmother made of mist; her memory is now home to all three.

And her story begins again as if for the first time.

“One morning, she took to the woods, as wild women often do. She told no one, and she headed into the haunted borderlands where she knew the ghosts roamed free. For hours she wept and she walked, witnessed by the forest spirits who understood her sorrow, who had seen such things before. As dusk swept its shadows through the woodland, the queen decided she would not return. She called the roots of a weathered oak her new castle, the moss her throne, and she curled to sleep at the crossroads between who she had been and who she was becoming.”

Teaching myself to embroider today while I wait on car repairs. Not bad for my first ever attempt at a leaf, if I do say so myself! ;)
This will be a crocheted Witch hat to get rid of some yarn and some unfinished projects :) Once the hats are finished, I'll have them at my booths at Which Craft in the Manhattan mall and at Kindred Haven by Target in Manhattan if you'd like to check them out!
