Here are 5 quick tips to keep your little ones safe under the sun this summer:
🧴 SPF 30+ sunscreen — apply & reapply!
🕑 Limit outdoor play during peak UV hours (10 AM–4 PM)
👒 Wide-brim hats + UPF clothing = extra protection
💧 Keep them hydrated every 20 minutes

But Texas summers are NO joke, and little ones can overheat faster than you think. This June, your Kidsville team wants every DFW kiddo to have the BEST summer — safely!

💧 Hydration rule: 8–10 oz of water every 20 minutes of outdoor play
🧴 SPF 30+ every time — reapply every 2 hours!
🕒 Avoid outdoor play between 10am–4pm on peak heat days
👕 Light colors, loose clothing & a hat are your best friends
🍉 Bonus tip: water-rich snacks like watermelon, cucumbers & strawberries count too!

🚨 Know the signs of heat exhaustion in kids:
→ Heavy sweating & weakness
→ Cool, pale or clammy skin
→ Fast or weak pulse
→ Nausea or vomiting
→ Dizziness or fainting

June is PTSD Awareness Month, and while we often think of trauma as an adult experience, children are just as vulnerable — and often far less able to put words to what they're feeling.

Childhood PTSD can look like:
😴 Nightmares or sudden sleep changes
😰 New fears, clinginess, or being easily startled
📉 Regression to younger behaviors
💬 Withdrawing from friends, school, or play
