Soundminds Psychiatry Your mental health is our priority, and we look forward to working with you.

SoundMinds Psychiatry is an outpatient mental health practice led by Dr Kemi Shodunke, DNP MSN, APRN, PMHHP-BC
a board certified doctorate prepared mental health practitioner. I began my nursing journey twenty years ago as a certified nurses aide and worked my way to obtaining my terminal degree in nursing. Through my nursing career, I have gained experience in long term care nursing, acute care rehabilitation, home health and private duty nursing, and nursing management. I currently work in a Federally qualified health center (FQHC) as a part time psychiatric provider. I also own my own private practice , serving patients from the ages of 13 and up in the evenings and weekends. I am happily married with two beautiful girls ❤️ In my free time, I love spending time with my family and close friends. Some of my hobbies include traveling, watching shows, working out, cooking, and helping others

WE DID IT!!! 🎉💚 201 REGISTRATIONS!!!

When we started planning our first-ever SoundMinds Su***de Prevention & Mental Health Awareness 5K, we set a goal of reaching 200 people.

And you all SHOWED UP. 🥹

201 people registered. 201 people choosing to walk, run, support, remember, advocate, and stand together for mental health.

This is so much bigger than a number. Every registration represents another person helping us say that mental health matters, su***de prevention matters, and no one should have to struggle alone.

To every participant, sponsor, vendor, volunteer, donor, community partner, family member, and friend who registered, donated, shared a post, told someone about the walk, or simply believed in this mission — THANK YOU. 💙💚

We asked you to help us get to 200… and y’all said BET. 201. 😂🙌🏾

And the craziest part? This is only YEAR ONE.

I’ve been quiet about the Lindsay Clancy case—and as a psychiatric prescriber, that was intentional.

This isn’t about guilt or innocence. It’s about the mental health crisis underneath the headlines and what cases like this require us to examine as providers, families, and communities.

We remember Cora, Dawson, and Callan. 🤍 We honor the lives lost. And we recognize that mental illness does not always look like crisis from the outside.

We have to listen sooner. Ask harder questions. Recognize warning signs. And make sure people can access help before they reach a breaking point.

That is why we walk. 💙

On September 12th, we walk for those suffering silently, for survivors, for grieving families, for those we’ve lost—and for the lives we still have an opportunity to reach.

Sometimes the difference between tragedy and tomorrow is recognizing the crisis in time.

Today, we honor the hands, hearts, and minds that keep our communities moving forward. 💙

This Labor Day, remember that rest is not something you have to earn. Taking time to pause, recharge, and care for your mental well-being matters too.

To every worker, caregiver, healthcare professional, educator, entrepreneur, parent, and everyday difference-maker — thank you for all that you do.

From all of us at SoundMinds Psychiatry LLC, Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸💙

Rest. Recharge. Keep Going. 🩵

💜 September is Su***de Prevention Month. 💜

This month, we pause to remember those we’ve lost, support those who are struggling, and remind our communities of one powerful truth:

You are never alone, and asking for help is a sign of strength.

Su***de prevention starts with connection — checking in, listening without judgment, recognizing warning signs, and creating spaces where people feel safe enough to say, “I’m not okay.”

At SoundMinds Psychiatry LLC and SoundMinds Foundation Inc., this mission is deeply personal to us. This September, we are committed to continuing the conversation, breaking the stigma surrounding mental health, and reminding every person that their life has value.

And this year, we are taking that message one step further with our SoundMinds Su***de Prevention & Mental Health Awareness 5K Walk on September 12th. 💙

We walk for those we’ve lost.
We walk for those still fighting.
We walk for families, friends, survivors, and our entire community.

🎗️ Hope. Healing. Connection. Prevention.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
