Deeper doesnโ€™t automatically mean better when it comes to microneedling. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

One of the things Iโ€™m assessing throughout a SkinPen treatment is how your skin is responding and what Iโ€™m actually trying to accomplish in each area.

Your forehead, cheeks, around the mouth, areas of scarring, and even your neck donโ€™t necessarily need to be treated exactly the same. Skin thickness varies, concerns vary, and treatment depth can vary too.

The goal isnโ€™t to crank the device as deep as possible or make you as red as possible. More aggressive doesnโ€™t automatically equal better results.
The goal is to create the appropriate controlled micro-injuries to stimulate your skinโ€™s natural remodeling response while treating your skin appropriately.

Thatโ€™s also why two people can come in for SkinPen and have completely different treatment plans. One may be focused on fine lines and overall rejuvenation, while another may be working on texture or acne scarring.

Letโ€™s talk progress, because progress doesnโ€™t have to mean perfectly clear skin.

And you donโ€™t have to wait for the perfect before-and-after photo to celebrate how far your skin has come.

Sometimes progress looks like fewer inflamed breakouts, areas that once felt constantly irritated beginning to calm down, or looking in the mirror and noticing that your skin is doing better than it was a few months ago.

This is my clientโ€™s skin from her initial visit to where we are today. While she still has some lingering redness and post-acne marks, that doesnโ€™t take away from the progress sheโ€™s made.

Itโ€™s easy to look in the mirror and focus on the marks that are still there instead of noticing how far your skin has come. And when youโ€™re scrolling past someone elseโ€™s clear-skin transformation, it can feel like your own journey isnโ€™t moving fast enough.

But your skin doesnโ€™t have to look like someone elseโ€™s for your progress to matter. Youโ€™re allowed to be proud of how far youโ€™ve come while still working toward where you want to be.
