Amy Lyn Solutions I'm a 40-something, working mother of 4. I enjoy outdoor activities and summer is my favorite season.

My passion is health and wellness and healing our bodies through the gifts that God gave us. We are all meant to be healthy and well, we just need to know how to get there.

Remember when you were a teenager and you had a big event. You were so excited to go with your friends and have photos taken, but you woke up in the morning to a big pimple winking at you in the mirror?

Now fast forward 30 years. Have you ever seen a similar wink before a big event, or even after?

The hormone shifts that sabotaged our completion as teens, also sabotage our complexions in perimenopause. But just like when we were teens, we can balance those fluctuations as adults. Adult acne is real but doesn't have to be a part of growing up, at any age.

A couple simple things can stop adult acne. Trust me, I'm living proof. When I vear away from these habits for more than a week, the breakouts happen.

1. 2 tablespoons of ground Flax seed every day.
- Estrogen excess controbutes to acne and binding the receptors with phytoestrogens in ground Flax, keeps your body's stronger estrogen from causing trouble.

2. Avoid processed sugars.
- I am a sugar addict. I cannot resist a warm chocolate chip cookie or hot fudge brownie sundae. Indulging more than once a week triggers excess insulin in my body which signals other hormones in excess, and then a breakout happens.

3. Monitor and regulate stress.
- Just like a big test or first date contributes to teen acne, work deadlines or full calendars contribute to adult acne. Do something nice for yourself to remind your body that it's safe and not constantly running for its life.

4. Reduce or eliminate alcohol consumption.
- This one can be hard, especially living in WI, where Old Fashioneds are made better than anywhere else in the world and where Packer games must be paired with Miller Light. As we all know, the liver is needed to clear alcohol, as well as a lot of other things we don't need, such as excess hormones. See a trend?

Try introducing these habits into your life and let me know if you notice a difference, both in appearance and how you feel.

Also, if you're interested in learning more and want personal guidance, join me at the Recalibration Retreat in Sedona, September 15-19, 2026, where I will share personal experience and formal education about hormone balance and traversing hormone changes.

Busy... if there is one word I hear most often, it's busy. It's an excuse, really, and a choice. We choose to over extend, to say yes, to try and make everyone happy, to chase a dream.

I just got the results of my functional labs and my cells have aged 1.3 years in 9 months. That's not a good pace. Why did that happen? It's because I'm busy. So today, I'm making a choice to no longer be busy. To say no to extra projects and not try and make everyone else's life easier. To say yes to me and to make my life more simple.

If you feel like your life is running you instead of the other way around, join me in Sedona, AZ Sept 15-19, for a recalibration retreat to get away from busy. Be with me, and 3 other incredible women, to learn how to slow down and find balance in your life. You will learn how to care for your mind, body, and soul in the middle of one of the world's greatest energy centers.

You are not entirely to blame if you suffer from obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypothyroidism or any other chronic disease. Food companies spend millions to make sure "you can't eat just one". They hire neuroscientists and other experts to manipulate foods in a lab to determine the "bliss point" using brain scans and salivation measurements. Doritos alone spent 2 years and $10 million to perfect the addiction of their product. They purposely hijack your own body's dopamine and serotonin receptors. We are buying and eating lab projects. If you're looking for more information, preorder Dr. Mark Hyman's new book "Food Fix Unsensored". If you no longer want to be an unwilling science experiment, DM me or visit www.kaviparkhealth.com

What a great beginning to a new chapter for US citizens. Recognition that our cheap and easy food is partially to blame for the increase of chronic disease in our country. This also shouts that health is individual and one size treatment does not fit all. Welcome root cause, individualized medicine! If you are interested to learn more on how to optimize your personal health, send me a DM.

On my way back to Virginia today and looking forward to seeing all my new friends at the IFH Neurosurgery department.

I frequently get asked the question, "don't you get tired of all the travel?" Honestly, it's tough to be away from home so often but the benefit of traveling is being seated next to a stranger on every flight, and becoming momentary friends before the journey is over.

This time I say, Merry Christmas to Dawn, who is traveling to visit her daughter's family in Detroit before returning to WI to spend the holidays with her other daughter in Portage.

I really enjoy hearing new stories. If you feel like sharing yours, I would love to hear it.

All healing takes place in the setting of a parasympathic nervous system. Take time today to stop and smell the roses. If the roses are no longer in bloom where you are, go outside anyway and point your eyes toward the heavens and take a deep, cleansing belly breath and just enjoy being alive.

Who's been caught off guard at that special time of the month and had to tie your jacket/sweatshirt around your waist until you could change your pants? Who's then thought, 'I can't wait until menopause?'. Who's now perimenopausal/menopausal who wishes they could go back to when things were more predictable? I hear you, ladies!

Poor sleep, night sweats, moodiness, fatigue, and soft in the middle, trying every diet and exercise under the son. What I've decided to do is educate myself about how to embrace this stage of life and adjust my lifestyle to what my body needs to make the ovary/adrenal transition as smooth as possible.

Becoming more in tune with my cycle allows me to increase leafy greens during week 1, justify dark chocolate in week 2, increase my protein in week 3, and avoid alcohol and caffeine in week 4.

If you're interested in incorporating this tool into your lifestyle, stay tuned this month to see how I can help you with that.
