Many women with prolapse find their way to us not via referral, but because the diagnosing physician recommended surgery.

"They told me that was my only option...but I knew there had to be something else..."

Surgery can be life-changing for some people. But, it's not the only path, and it's not always the right first step.

Pelvic floor therapy has been proven time and time again to reduce the impact of prolapse and prevent progression of symptoms. We've helped many women avoid surgery altogether. But for those who need surgical intervention, physical therapy prepares your body to have better surgical outcomes and recover faster, and more effectively.

The point is: you have options. And you deserve to explore all of them before making a decision about your body. If you've been diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse and want to feel fully educated and empowered in your decision making, reach out to set up an evaluation with the specialists at Gaia today!

If you’re looking for a provider that educates you on ALL of your options, send us a DM to get started. πŸ’œ

It's no surprise that when things feel like they're "falling out" down there, women are prone to cross their legs, sit down, and avoid any movement that might make things worse.

In fact, we frequently hear that women have been told to stop the exercise they love in order to prevent worsening of their prolapse.

But is that really necessary? Does exercise really pose a risk? And is there a way to return to exercise safely?

We cover all that and more in our latest blog post for the month of June!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story. So many women have had a fall on their tailbone at one point or another in their life, and this can lead to dysfunction even years later. Pelvic floor therapy can help to correct alignment and imbalances that are the root cause of pelvic floor dysfunction and pain. We're so happy to have had the opportunity to help you find relief!

It's no secret that our brains lie to us sometimes. 🧠

They try to keep us safe. They try to hold us in our comfort zone...even when it's less than comfortable. They say "You're beyond hope," or "It'll take too long."

Well, here's the truth. Most of the women we see start to notice significant improvement in their symptoms in just 4 - 5 visits. 🀯

Yup, you read that right. Whether it's incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, or pelvic pain β€” our patients are generally walking through the door with big goofy smiles on their faces within just a few visits because...

Pelvic. Therapy. Works.

When you understand what is happening in your body, and when you know the root cause of your symptoms, magic happens. Every woman will have her own unique path, and with varying symptoms and histories we can't make guarantees. But this is what we see time and time again.

So if that little voice in your head has been telling you it's not worth trying β€” maybe it's time to prove it wrong. πŸ’œ
