Good news—I figured out what was going on with the new oven, and today’s loaves baked up beautifully! ❤️

Fresh sourdough loaves are available for pickup this afternoon until 7 PM.

🥖 MIDWEEK SOURDOUGH BAKE 🥖

Well, the new oven and I are still getting acquainted, so we're doing another test bake! 😅

I'm baking sourdough tomorrow with pickup available tomorrow afternoon or evening. My goal is to get everything dialed in so this weekend's bake goes smoothly and all the oven quirks are worked out.

Loaves will be original sourdough unless otherwise requested. If you'd like a different flavor, send me a message soon and I'll do my best to make it happen.

After this weekend’s adventures with my new oven, I’m squeezing in a midweek bake to keep getting things dialed in. Send me a message if you’d like a loaf! Loaves will be original sourdough unless otherwise requested, and I’ll do my best to accommodate flavor requests.

Micro Bakery Lesson #101:Test the new oven BEFORE bread week. 😂

As many of you know, we’ve been renovating our kitchen, and while I absolutely LOVE my new appliances, I somehow forgot one very important thing… test sourdough first.

Since sourdough is a multi-day process, I didn’t realize a few adjustments were needed until I was already mid-bake this week. 😅

Don’t worry though — ugly loaves are still tasty loaves. ❤️ Some may not have the rise or shape I normally aim for, but they’re still made with the same ingredients, process, and love. The less-than-perfect loaves will be clearly marked and discounted this weekend.

So if you don’t mind bread with a little extra character, this may be your week. 😂

First and foremost, thank you all so much for the prayers, messages, kindness, and support over these last several days. We truly appreciate every single one of them.

My father-in-law is doing much better since the last update. The internal bleeding around the heart and brain has stopped, which was such an answer to prayer, and they were finally able to start blood thinners today.

He has also been transferred closer to home, which we are all so thankful for because it makes things much easier for my mother-in-law along with family and friends being able to visit and help support him.

We were told this was actually a pretty major stroke involving both sides of the brain, and had the clot been in even a slightly different area, things could have looked very different. We feel incredibly blessed and thankful with how things have gone so far.

Right now it’s looking like he will likely need some rehabilitation, but they are hopeful he’ll be able to continue that from home once he is discharged, which was really encouraging news.

Going forward, prayers are still very appreciated — specifically that the blood thinners do what they need to do, his strength and health continue improving, and that the left eye and left side of his body continue healing fully so we can hopefully see him get back to normal again.

Please also continue praying for my mother-in-law and sister-in-law as they navigate all of this and work toward getting him back home.
