Sober October Oklahoma

Sober October Oklahoma Founded by Stefanie Ward, Sober October, is a growing sobriety and lifestyle initiative based in Oklahoma with outreach expanding nationally.

Sober October Oklahoma is the home of the Sobriety Support Program, a structured, accountability-based initiative designed to support individuals impacted by the justice system through early intervention, preparation, and ongoing community support. A graduate of the Pittsburg County District 18 Specialty Courts Drug Court and Mental Health Court program, Stefanie uses her personal journey through

recovery to inspire others to make positive changes in their lives. She is also a speaker, event organizer, and advocate for sobriety, regularly collaborating with recovery groups, media outlets, and community organizations.

It happened.

The very first participant in Sober October Oklahoma graduated this week.

The first one through.

Not because it was easy.
Not because someone pushed her.
But because she made a decision — and refused to quit.

She showed up.
She stayed accountable.
She did the work.

And along the way — she blossomed.
You could see the change.
The growth.
The confidence.

She got a job she loves — one she’s inspired by.
She started carrying herself differently.
Thinking differently.
Living differently.

She didn’t just finish something — she transformed.

And she earned this.

I am proud of her. Truly.

This is what it looks like when someone decides to do things differently — and actually follows through.

This is real.
This works.

And this is only the beginning.

It’s comeback season.

May 1 🤍

Yesterday we shared that you’ll be seeing a lot more —
here’s what that means.

Since our January launch, we’ve been building something new around the work already being done.

Second Chance Summer.

A new way to connect to Sober October Oklahoma —
outside of the traditional process and without needing to be referred.

This creates another entry point for those who are ready to take a step,
but may not know where to start.

More details will be released soon.

Until then, you can message the page directly to learn more or get connected early.

Official rollout begins June 1.

Tomorrow is May 1st — and we’re stepping into a new season.

While things may have been quieter publicly, the work behind the scenes never stopped. The focus stayed exactly where it needed to be — building, refining, and continuing to serve the people who count on this program.

Sober October Oklahoma has always been about real people, real accountability, and real second chances.

This season brought clarity — and it strengthened the vision for what’s ahead.

Same mission. Still building. Stronger than ever.

As we head into summer…
you’ll be seeing a lot more from us.

❤️🤍💙

After returning from a doctor’s visit today, I’ve been advised to rest for several days.

As a result, this week’s Sobriety Support Program class and Wednesday’s scheduled event will be postponed. This was not an easy decision, but leadership also means knowing when to pause in order to protect long-term sustainability.

We are committed to excellence, structure, and accountability — and that includes ensuring we show up at our best.

Updated information regarding rescheduling will be shared soon.

Thank you for your continued support of the Sobriety Support Program and the mission we are building together.

Sobriety Support Program Recognition Day – February 18, 2026

📅 February 18, 2026
📍 Southeast Expo Center
🎉 Governor-Proclaimed Sobriety Support Program Recognition Day

What started as a vision has become something much bigger than I ever imagined.

The Sobriety Support Program, through Sober October Oklahoma, is changing lives by doing something different —
👉 we start inside the jail so people don’t walk out unprepared.

This program provides structure, accountability, and support before release and continues after, helping individuals stabilize housing, employment, sobriety, and routine — instead of starting from zero.

On February 18, we’ll be celebrating:
✔️ Program participants and graduates
✔️ Law enforcement & justice partners
✔️ Volunteers & community supporters
✔️ The official recognition of this program by the State of Oklahoma

💙 We’re Looking for Volunteers 💙

Sober October Oklahoma | Sobriety Support Program

As our program continues to grow, we’re looking for reliable, mission-driven volunteers to step into a few key areas where help is truly needed. Whether you’re creative, organized, people-focused, or community-minded — there’s a place for you.

Here are the areas where we could use support right now:

1️⃣ Sponsorship & Events Support
Help us secure sponsors, coordinate community events, assist with planning, outreach, and day-of event needs.

2️⃣ Social Media, Digital Media & Website Support
Create and schedule posts, help tell our story online, assist with digital content, website updates, branding, and logo support.

3️⃣ In-Jail Classes & Programming
Assist with or lead in-jail classes as a teacher, speaker, or classroom support. We are also seeking help with accountability initiatives, including drug testing support (training provided).

4️⃣ In-Jail & Participant Check-In Support
Support participant accountability through structured check-ins, one-on-one encouragement, attendance tracking, and follow-ups both inside the jail and post-release.

5️⃣ Administrative & Documentation Support
Help with organization, documentation, data tracking, reports, forms, and behind-the-scenes program support that keeps everything running smoothly.

✨ You don’t need prior experience — just consistency, integrity, and a heart for recovery and reentry.
✨ Volunteer roles are flexible and matched to your availability and strengths.

👉 Interested? Fill out the Volunteer & Community Partner Interest Form (link in comments), message us or email [email protected] for details.

Thank you for being part of a program that starts inside the jail so people walk out ready to succeed.

Looking for Someone with Drug Testing Experience

Does anyone here have experience administering or overseeing drug testing (clinical, probation, healthcare, or program-based)?

I’m exploring a special program idea related to accountability and compliance and would love to connect with someone knowledgeable to talk through logistics and best practices.

This would be volunteer-based and handled appropriately within program guidelines.

Please message or email me for details.
Thank you.

🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🚨

Sobriety Support Program | All Hands Needed

The Sobriety Support Program is growing quickly, and we are actively seeking dedicated volunteers to support every area of our work — inside the jail, in the community, and at our upcoming event on February 18.

This is a hands-on program, and we need help in multiple areas:

🔹 Event Volunteers (February 18)
• Setup, check-in, hospitality, breakdown
• On-site event support

🔹 Sponsorship & Fundraising Support
• Helping secure sponsors for program operations & events
• Business and community outreach

🔹 Participant Support & Accountability
• Weekly check-ins
• One-on-one accountability and encouragement

🔹 In-Jail Program Support
• Assisting with weekly in-jail classes
• Teaching or co-teaching recovery, life skills, or reentry classes

🔹 Program & Administrative Support
• Scheduling, coordination, documentation, and logistics

No matter your background, if you are reliable, consistent, and willing to help, we can find a meaningful place for you.

Our program starts inside the jail so people walk out with structure, accountability, and support already in place. Volunteers make that possible.

The Sobriety Support Program is growing quickly, and we’re supporting individuals as they transition from incarceration into stability, structure, and accountability. We start inside the jail so people don’t walk out unprepared.

Donations right now go directly to:
• Transportation to work, meetings, and appointments
• Emergency housing & stabilization support
• Program materials & operational costs
• Ongoing accountability and reentry support

This program helps people stay sober, employed, and out of the system — and it works.

If you believe in second chances and real change, I’d be grateful for your support or even just a share.
