💜 September is Su***de Awareness Month 💙

At Shrink Box, we believe awareness is more than a message—it’s about showing up, starting conversations, listening, and building a community where no one feels alone.

Throughout September, we’ll be out in our community with events, educational opportunities, and moments of connection. From Shrink Box on the Street to our Su***de Awareness Lecture at PSJA ISD, Stick by Me, Chalk the Walk, and more, we invite you to join us.

Every conversation matters. Every connection matters. You matter.

📅 Save the dates and share this schedule with someone who may benefit from being part of these events.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Together, we can bring hope, support, and change. 💙💜

💛 Let’s Talk. Let’s Listen. Let’s Be There.

September is Su***de Prevention Month, a time to remind ourselves that conversations can save lives.

Sometimes, the most important thing we can do is simply ask, “How are you really doing?” and be willing to listen without judgment.

Join Shrink Box on September 5 at 10:00 AM at Target in North McAllen as we bring su***de awareness to the community and create a safe space for conversations about mental health, hope, and support.

You don’t have to be an expert. You just have to be willing to listen. 💛

Come talk with us. Come learn. Come be part of a community that cares.

💜 SHRINK BOX ON THE STREETS 💙

This September, for Su***de Awareness Month, Shrink Box is taking mental health awareness beyond the walls of an office and into the heart of our community.

Shrink Box on the Streets is about showing up where our people are. Every weekend in September, we’ll be at a different location in our community—connecting, listening, starting conversations, sharing resources, and helping break the stigma surrounding mental health and su***de.

Because sometimes, we need to bring the conversation to the people—not wait for them to come to us.

📍 Our first stop:
🎯 Target – North McAllen
📅 September 5th at 10 am

🎁 We’ll be giving away prizes and su***de awareness materials, while creating opportunities for our community to learn, connect, and talk about mental health.

Come say hello. Start a conversation. Pick up a resource. Bring a friend.

We’re coming to you—because you matter. 💜

Together, we can spread awareness, break stigma, and save lives.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Amid all the noise, sometimes it is silence that allows us to hear what truly matters.

In “The Importance of Silence,” Dr. German Corso reflects on the tragedy affecting Colombia and on how, in moments of pain and uncertainty, silence can become a space to listen, to feel, to be grateful, and to reconnect with one another.

Throughout the article, silence takes on different meanings: it is the stillness of a community listening for signs of life beneath the rubble; the pause that allows us to better understand the suffering of others; and an intentional practice that can help us reconnect with ourselves and support our mental well-being.

To accompany this reflection, we created a series of original images inspired by both the emotion and resilience of the Colombian people and the visual language of Colombian master Alejandro Obregón—fragmented forms, intense color, and expressive figures used to represent what words alone sometimes cannot.

🇨🇴 Silence to listen.
Silence to understand.
Silence to empathize.

We invite you to read German Corso’s full reflection and to give yourself, even for a few minutes, the gift of quiet.

⚽️ WORLD CUP FEVER AND FANS EMOTIONAL HEALTH
By Dr. Gutierrez

The World Cup is more than goals, victories, and heartbreaking losses—it is also an emotional experience shared by millions of families around the world.

In this latest Shrink Box article, Dr. Gutierrez explores how the excitement of soccer can become an opportunity to talk about emotional regulation, resilience, empathy, and healthy coping.

For parents especially, these moments matter. Children are watching how adults react to winning, losing, controversial calls, and disappointment—and those reactions can become powerful lessons about how to manage big emotions.

Soccer can remind us that competition does not have to come at the expense of respect, compassion, or sportsmanship. Sometimes, the most meaningful lessons of the game happen beyond the field. ⚽️❤️

Sigamos hablando.
Sigamos brillando juntos. 💚

Tu salud mental importa. Tu historia importa. Tú importas.
