We Are Up is creating space for people with intellectual disabilities and seniors. We don’t all have to look alike, think alike, or fit the same mold to have worth. A flower doesn’t become less beautiful because it grows differently from another, and neither does a person. Beauty and usefulness come in countless forms—and there is room for all of them. We Are Up is leaving open space for us to come together as a community.

Disability Pride Fest Eureka
Adorni Center

(5th annual, And the second year we’re having a parade!) Come share what you’re proud of and have a cool time! Free community event celebrating the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, with activities for all ages. Open mic, pop-up arcade, art show, bubble machine, speed friending for teens and adults, parade at 3 p.m., food trucks, community organizations (and even more). The parade starts at the Adorni Center at 3:00 p.m., down to the boardwalk and back on the waterfront side. Come early to make a sign! ASL/Spanish interpretation. All welcome. This event is part of Get Out and Play Day in partnership with the City of Eureka.

is a shovel ready project with a new model of care. 70 units of housing for seniors, people with IDD, and work force housing on 17 acres with farm to table agriculture, job training, large community meeting rooms and kitchen to bring people together. While waiting for financing we have begun outreach and services.
