“Do you see kids?” We get this question all the time—and yes, we absolutely do. 🤍

And because we know how much it matters to parents to feel confident in who is caring for their child, we’re incredibly proud to have Pediatric Nurse Practitioners in DFW who specialize specifically in caring for kids, along with our wonderful Family Nurse Practitioners in DFW, Katy + Midland who care for the whole family.

When your child is sick, you’re already worried. Add in getting everyone dressed, loading up the car, driving to urgent care, sitting in a waiting room with other sick families, and trying to keep siblings entertained…and it’s a lot.

That’s exactly why we come to you. 🏡

We can care for your child where they’re most comfortable—at home—for sick visits AND well visits, and we now have the ability to provide vaccines when needed, too.

One less car trip.
One less waiting room.
One less thing for an already overwhelmed parent to figure out.

Just thoughtful, personalized care for your child, with time to ask questions and a provider who comes to you. 🤍

Next time your child needs care, call or text Tribe first. We’ll help you figure out the next step.

When insurance says 4 basic panels should tell us everything we need to know. 😅

They’re a great starting point—but sometimes “everything looks normal” doesn’t explain why you don’t feel normal.
There can be a lot more to the story. 👀

Next up: typical annual labs vs. what we like to look at more comprehensively.

What’s going around right now?

Back-to-school germs are officially making their rounds, and we’re seeing a little bit of everything lately:

🌹 Roseola
🦠 COVID
🤧 Adenovirus
😷 Strep
🤒 Flu A + B
🌾 Seasonal allergies
🫁 Asthma flares

With so many illnesses circulating, symptoms can overlap—fever, sore throat, congestion, cough, fatigue, and even rashes can have several different causes.

A few things that can help:

• Prioritize sleep + plenty of fluids
• Wash hands frequently, especially after school
• Avoid sharing drinks and water bottles
• Change clothes/wash up after spending lots of time outdoors if allergies are flaring
• Stay on top of your prescribed asthma plan and medications
• Keep sick kiddos home when appropriate to give their bodies time to recover (and help limit the spread!)

When might it be time to get checked?

🚩 Difficulty breathing, wheezing, or increased work of breathing
🚩 Signs of dehydration or inability to keep fluids down
🚩 A high or persistent fever
🚩 Severe sore throat or difficulty swallowing
🚩 A rash accompanied by other concerning symptoms
🚩 Symptoms that improve and then suddenly return or worsen
🚩 Your asthma symptoms aren’t responding to your usual treatment plan

And one we always remind parents: trust your instincts. If you or your child just doesn’t seem right, it’s okay to have them evaluated.

We’re here to make those sick days a little easier with in-home visits for both kids and adults—because sometimes the last place you want to be when you’re sick is another waiting room. 💜

📌 Save this for later and share with another parent wondering what’s going around!

The first week of school: when moms everywhere start wondering what tiny germ-filled souvenir is coming home in the backpack. 😂🦠🤌
Will it be strep? A stomach bug? A mystery fever? Or will we somehow make it through unscathed? 👀
Whatever the school year brings, we’re here to make the sick days a little easier—meeting your family where you are, answering the questions, and helping you navigate the “is this worth getting checked?” moments. 💜
Because parenting is hard enough without adding a waiting room to the mix. 🏡

We’re adding something new to Tribe—and this is one we’re really excited to educate our families about.

We now offer MyRisk Hereditary Cancer Genetic Testing by Myriad.

This test looks at 63 genes associated with hereditary risk across 11+ types of cancer, including breast, ovarian, colorectal, pancreatic, prostate, uterine and others.

Why does this matter?

Because knowing that you carry an inherited genetic variant associated with an increased cancer risk may allow you and your healthcare team to make more informed decisions about screening, monitoring and risk-reduction strategies.

And getting tested is surprisingly simple.

🧬 We start with your personal + family history
📋 You’ll complete a questionnaire
📦 A kit can be sent to your home
💧 You’ll provide a saliva sample and send it to Myriad
📊 Once we receive your results, we’ll review them with you and discuss what they mean for your individual health

A positive result doesn’t mean you have cancer or that you will definitely develop it. This testing is about understanding inherited risk and having more information to make proactive healthcare decisions.

If cancer runs in your family—or you’re simply wondering whether hereditary genetic testing might be appropriate for you—call or text us. We’ll help you determine the next step. 💜

Sometimes feeding your baby doesn’t go the way you pictured it would. 🤍

Before I had my first baby, I always thought breastfeeding was the best choice and fully intended to breastfeed. Then I became a mom…and learned very quickly that what we plan and what actually works for our baby can be two very different things.

My son was allergic to so many things, and breastfeeding became incredibly stressful. I was constantly trying to figure out what I had eaten, what might be triggering his outbreaks, and what I needed to eliminate next. Eventually, I found a formula that worked well for him—and realized that what mattered most was finding a way to safely feed my baby that worked for him and for me.

Sometimes breastfeeding works beautifully. Sometimes you supplement. Sometimes you use formula from day one. And sometimes your plans completely change along the way.

Recently, a rep from Bobbie reached out and asked if I would like some formula samples. I said yes—not because this is an ad or sponsored post (it absolutely isn’t!)—but because I wanted to have samples available for patients who may find themselves needing or wanting a formula option.

I’ve been that mom trying to figure out what to do next, and if sharing something I like makes that season a little easier for someone else, I’m happy to do it. 💜

If you’re in the DFW area and would like to try a Bobbie formula sample, send us a DM. I’d be happy to drop some off to you while supplies last.
However you end up feeding your baby, the goal is the same: a nourished baby and a supported mama. 🤍

The Lindsay Clancy trial is an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking story—one that involves unimaginable loss and deserves to be discussed with care. 🤍

This isn’t about taking a side in an ongoing trial. It’s about recognizing the important conversations it is bringing to the surface about maternal mental health, postpartum care, medication management, communication between providers, and what happens when someone is asking for help within a complicated healthcare system.

There are no simple answers here. But there are conversations we need to be having.

We need to listen to women.
We need to take changes in mental health seriously.
We need better communication and continuity of care.
And we need to continue talking about how we can better support mothers and families before they reach a crisis.

Our hearts remain with everyone impacted by this devastating tragedy. 🤍

This discussion is for educational purposes and is not intended to offer an opinion on guilt, innocence, or the outcome of the ongoing trial.

Iron infusions are coming to Tribe Wellness + Concierge! 🩸💜

Starting this Friday, we’re offering iron infusions in the DFW area for patients who have been evaluated and determined to need IV iron.

If you’ve been dealing with iron deficiency or low iron stores, you may be familiar with symptoms like:

• Feeling unusually tired or weak
• Low energy or exercise tolerance
• Shortness of breath with activity
• Headaches or dizziness
• Difficulty concentrating
• Feeling cold
• Hair shedding
• Restless legs

For some people, oral iron is enough. For others, it may not be well tolerated, adequately absorbed, or sufficient to restore iron levels. In those cases, a healthcare provider may recommend an iron infusion.

At Tribe, we can help you look at the bigger picture—including your symptoms and appropriate lab work—to determine whether an iron infusion may be an option for you.

📍 Available in DFW beginning this Friday.

Have questions about iron infusions or want to know if you’re a candidate? Call or text us. We’re happy to walk you through it. 💜

Iron infusions require medical evaluation and are only provided when clinically appropriate. Symptoms listed above can have many causes and do not necessarily indicate iron deficiency. This post is for educational purposes and is not medical advice.
