Today in Hoofbeats & Heartbeats, we explored one of the deepest parts of what drives us—our core emotional needs.
Every behavior has a purpose. Every reaction is an attempt to meet a need.
We talked about the scramble—those protective patterns we develop when our emotional needs haven’t been fully met. People-pleasing, perfectionism, overachieving, withdrawing, controlling… they’re not who we are. They’re strategies we’ve learned to feel safe, loved, seen, or significant.
But hidden within every scramble is a gift.
When we begin to understand why we respond the way we do, we can stop judging ourselves and start transforming those patterns into our greatest strengths.
As we groomed the horses, something beautiful happened.
The horses didn’t respond to our masks. They responded to our presence.
They mirrored what was happening beneath the surface, inviting each woman to soften, become aware, and simply be. Horses have an incredible way of reflecting our nervous system without judgment, offering us the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves in a way words often cannot.
From there, I guided the women through Heart Coherence breathing and meditation, creating harmony between the heart, mind, and body. As each woman settled into coherence within herself, a deeper connection with the horses naturally emerged. It was a reminder that true connection begins from within.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering who you were before the scramble.
So grateful to witness these women choosing courage, curiosity, and connection—one breath, one heartbeat, and one horse at a time. 🤍🐴
