Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplements. This is one I would consider unless you eat a lot of wild-caught salmon, but as with everything talk to your doctor and do your research. Omega 3 supplements have different amounts of EPA and DHA. If you are looking to reduce inflammation and improve cardiovascular health, you want more EPA and less DHA. If you are looking for brain, eye, and cognitive health you want more DHA. All supplements have both - its just a matter of which one is in higher amounts (higher ratio). As with everything, you get what you pay for! Cheap Fish Oil requires you to take more capsules and likely has contaminants like more mercury etc. You want a good quality concentrated fish oil made from cold water/deep water fish -anchovies, sardines, mackerel, or wild caught salmon. Good quality concentrated Omega 3 supplements generally have you take 2 daily with a large meal. This is fat/oil so it will absorb better with food. Generally well tolerated except for occassional "fish burps" WARNING - Omega 3 supplements thin your blood - DO NOT TAKE without talking to your doctor especially if you are on aspirin therapy or any blood thinners.
