Children are always welcome in my office. ❤️

I’ve been the mom sitting in a doctor’s office holding a crying baby against my chest while holding the hand of my toddler.

Sweating. Overwhelmed. Apologizing.

I once had a doctor who was clearly annoyed and actually asked me, “Why didn’t you just leave them at home with your mother?”

I left that appointment thinking I needed to apologize for my children simply being children.

I don’t ever want you to feel that way in my office.

Bring the baby. Bring the toddler. Bring the kids.

A crying baby isn’t an inconvenience.

A toddler who needs your hand isn’t misbehaving.

They’re showing us that they feel safe with you.

You should never have to choose between taking care of yourself and being a mom.

So please don’t apologize for your healthy, attached, loving children.

There’s room for them here, too. 💚

And let’s be honest 😉 men aren’t always the ones making the appointment.

Often, it’s the wife who says:

“He’s exhausted all the time.”

“He’s gained weight and can’t seem to lose it.”

“His sleep is terrible.”

“He just doesn’t feel like himself.”
