The GFWC Viera Woman’s Club is pleased to announce its annual Swing for Charity Golf Tournament, taking place Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Rockledge Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament help support the GFWC Viera Woman’s Club’s ongoing philanthropic efforts and the many local charitable organizations and community causes that benefit from the Club’s service throughout the year. Making a Difference in Our Community The GFWC Viera Woman’s Club is dedicated to improving the lives of others through volunteer service, fundraising, donations, and community partnerships. Throughout the year, Club members give their time and resources to support organizations serving children, families, veterans, seniors, and individuals facing challenges throughout our local community. Orlando VA Healthcare System Offers Drive-Thru Flu Vaccinations Across Central Florida
The Orlando VA Healthcare System (OVAHCS) is making it easier for Veterans to protect themselves and their families this flu season by offering convenient drive-thru flu vaccination clinics at multiple locations throughout Central Florida.
The clinics provide Veterans with an opportunity to receive their annual flu vaccine without leaving their vehicles, helping reduce barriers to preventive care while supporting a healthier Veteran community.
“Getting vaccinated against the flu is one of the simplest ways Veterans can protect themselves, their loved ones and those around them,” said Dr. Meshondra Collins. “By offering drive-thru clinics and bringing our Mobile Medical Unit to community events, we are making preventive care more convenient and accessible for the Veterans we serve.”

Additional Lake Nona Vaccination Opportunities
To further expand access, the Orlando VA Healthcare System’s Mobile Medical Unit will be on-site at two upcoming community events, offering Veterans additional opportunities to receive their flu vaccinations.
• Sunday, October 25, 2026 | 1–3 p.m.
Trunk or Treat Event: The Mobile Medical Unit will be available at the Lake Nona event, combining seasonal festivities with an opportunity for Veterans to receive their flu vaccine.
• Saturday, November 7, 2026 | 11 a.m.–2 p.m.
Veterans Day Parade: The Mobile Medical Unit will be on-site during the Veterans Day Parade in Lake Nona, providing another convenient vaccination opportunity as the community comes together to honor Veterans.
The Orlando VA Healthcare System encourages Veterans to take advantage of these convenient vaccination opportunities and make their health a priority this flu season.

Brevard Symphony Orchestra Welcomes Dr. Robert Lamb, Conductor of the Brevard Community Chorus, to Narrate Copland’s Lincoln Portrait in Honor of America 250.

To open their 73rd season, the Brevard Symphony Orchestra honors our veterans in the Echoes of Freedom showcase. The concert features soloist Kelli Wallace of the Patrick Space Force Base as the vocalist for the national anthem. The concert concludes with Copland’s famous Lincoln Portrait, with special guest narrator Dr. Robert Lamb of the Brevard Community Chorus.
Echoes of Freedom will be held at the King Center for the Performing Arts on October 17th, 2026, at 7:30 pm.
Hadassah Etienne, the orchestra’s Executive Director, is looking forward to this concert saying, “This special program does a phenomenal job of exploring patriotic themes through music. Echoes of Freedom features all-American composers and powerfully celebrates our country's 250th anniversary. We are thrilled to offer this concert to our community, honoring the many veterans who reside here and who sacrificed and served for this country."
