She spent a long season fighting for her life. She won.
But when the fight was over and she looked in the mirror, the person looking back didn’t feel like her. Not sick anymore. Just... changed. And nobody really warns you about that part.
She didn’t want a new face. She wanted her face. The one she had before all of it.
For patients like her, more surgery is off the table. Not because it wouldn’t help, but because mentally and emotionally, they’ve given enough of themselves to operating rooms. They need a way back that doesn’t involve going under again.
Let me be honest with you the way I would be with a friend: wanting your face back isn’t vanity. When a hard chapter, physical or mental, leaves its mark, choosing to reclaim what it took is one of the most self-respecting things you can do. You’re allowed to want to recognize yourself again.
So we took it slow. I rebuilt structure where volume was lost, softened the texture and shadows that told a story she was ready to close, and gave her back the lips she’d always had. Nothing rushed, nothing she didn’t approve first. I spent years in the ICU holding hands on people’s worst days before I ever held a syringe, and that’s exactly how I treat this work. Carefully, and like it matters. Because it does.
If you’re in Melissa, Anna, Van Alstyne, McKinney, or anywhere in North Texas and you’ve been quietly wondering whether it’s okay to want this for yourself... it is. Come sit with me. No pressure, no sales pitch, just a plan.
