My Nana raised me.
We were lucky to be born here. That’s it.
It wasn’t because we did anything special — we just happened to be born in the right place at the right time.
If she were raising me today and we hadn’t been born here…
I honestly don’t know what would’ve happened.
I was a little kid. I wouldn’t have been able to stop it.
I would’ve just lost her.
And that’s what keeps hitting me.
That’s what’s happening right now.
Families being torn apart.
No due process. No warning. No goodbye.
People just gone. And their kids — left behind. Scared. Grieving.
And the silence? From the people who say they care about kids…
who say they care about family, about love, about faith?
It’s been louder than the screams.
If we actually believed in loving our neighbors —
we’d be doing something.
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”
That’s not just a cute phrase. That’s supposed to mean something.
is doing the work.
Helping families. Fighting for people who are being erased by a system that doesn’t see their humanity.
If you’d fight for your own family —
then don’t look away when someone else’s is taken.
Love everyone. Or stop pretending you do.
