Sealey the Survivor

Some glimpses of Sealey's summer. He is growing more each day, and all of his check-ups have been good. We loved advocating for CMN & UMC at the Klay's for Kids Event. And Sealey is doing things out of his comfort zone like finally sliding down the slide, starting t-ball, and even holding a sparkler at 4th of July.

A small prayer request: Sealey will have some repeat testing in August as he approaches two years cancer free. These are standard tests in his plan of care, but we are trying some new strategies to keep Sealey comfortable and we would appreciate the support.

Now more than ever, Roy & I feel the calling to help those who are going through journeys similar to ours. Stepping up to that plate sometimes brings back emotions that are tough to work through, but it also reminds us how blessed we have been in the journey. These updates may help us connect with someone who needs our encouragement so we appreciate you continuing to read and cheer on Sealey!

Our family got to kick off Children's Miracle Network fundraising season with our friends from UMC, Texas Roadhouse & KCBD. It was a blessing to be able to share our story and raise awareness to support kids in the area.

Sealey continues to have good bi-monthly check ups with oncology. In May, he will be two years from diagnosis. We are blessed by his good health and how much he has grown.

Also, mark your calendars for Saturday, June 27th. Sealey will get to hang with teams participating in the Klays for Kids fundraiser. Roy and I will be sharing more of our story that day as well.

Sealey's lab work and check-ups continue to go great! His next appointment will hopefully be in the new cancer center at UMC.

We were blessed to get to represent at the Battle for the 806 and Take 5 this week to help raise funds to help more kids like Sealey 🧡🦖

We got the best gift for Christmas already this week. Sealey's labs were excellent and he will go back in February for his next check-up!

Our family was able to attend the 2025 UMC Oncology Christmas Party this weekend. We were blown away once again by the love and generosity of the Lubbock community and UMC to make this time of year special for the kids battling cancer as well as their siblings. We loved seeing many of the people who helped us along our journey.

We are extremely excited to celebrate this Christmas one year out of chemo with Sealey thriving! 🧡🦖

Happy 3rd Birthday, Sealey! We had a great time celebrating his birthday this weekend. It has been a year this week since he came home from chemo. We are amazed by his growth over the past year.

All of Sealey's labs are still looking great so we have transitioned to every other month oncology check ups. We have continued to attend events and advocate with Children's Miracle Network and UMC -- bringing awareness to all the other survivors!

Please pray for many more healthy and happy birthdays for our little guy! 🦖🧡

The community you find in Lubbock when you have a child diagnosed with cancer is unreal. They are the best people you never want to meet. When you do, you are extremely thankful to have them in your corner. We got to experience it in an amazing way at our first Lubbock Pediatric Cancer Walk today.
