Hi 👋 I’m Kristi, and I’m a social worker turned personal trainer with a passion for helping aging adults, and adults managing chronic pain!

There are two misconceptions when it comes to training with chronic pain.

1) training with chronic pain is lifting heavier and consistently progressive overloading traditional lifts.
TRUTH: we can incorporate traditional lifts, and the goal is to get there eventually, however we typically have to strengthen our stabilizing muscles before we can dive into integrating these moves. We don’t want to encourage your muscles to continue to compensate (that’s the reason you’re in pain to begin with!). We start low and progress slowly.

2) the second misconception is that training with pain is all breathing, myofascial release, and yoga stretches.
TRUTH: the above are great, and always incorporated into your workouts, but… you are NOT broken!!! You may be weak, but not broken. We work on gentle strengthening, and listening to your bodily cues throughout the exercise. We use our breath to move throw the exercise. We s…l…o…w down. Typically when there is pain, there is weakness. The muscles get tight to hold you in place because you don’t have the stability needed to handle the load.

Why? It could be lifestyle, age, hypermobility, etc. let’s worry less about why, and focus on how we can manage more effectively!

The goal was never just to add years — it’s to make sure those years are ones you can actually enjoy: dancing at a wedding, playing on the floor with a grandkid, walking without worrying about the uneven sidewalk. Our sessions combine strength, balance, and breath work so your independence stays a given, not something you have to fight for later.

It’s never too early — or too late — to invest in the body that has to carry you for decades to come. Let’s start today. 🌅

Recently I started playing Cricket with a fun group of ladies, and we’re planning on an upcoming tournament in support of breast cancer awareness.

It is such a fun game, and I’m honored to be a part of such a cool group of ladies and learning a new skill while also getting some movement in.

Our team is looking for sponsors as we gear up for the tournament, so if you know anyone / company that would be interested in sponsoring, please send me in the right direction and I would be so appreciated to connect the team and potential sponsor!

Also, just wanting to spread the word that Cricket is such a cool game, and everyone should try it! 😉 If you want to join our team, let me know!

Not everyone needs fluorescent lights, mirrors, and a stranger’s grunting to get stronger — some of us just need a coach who shows up where we already feel safe. That’s why we train in your home: real, personalized programming built around your body, your pace, and your goals, with zero gym intimidation involved.

If the idea of a gym has kept you from starting, that excuse is officially retired. Reach out and let’s make movement feel like yours again. 🏡

I was always told that crossing your arms makes you unapproachable, from a nonverbal communication standpoint.
But in the past few years I realized why it’s so hard for me to stop! It’s comfortable, it’s natural, and it provides proprioceptive input to my joint that are a little loosey goosey.

And that loosey goosey is hypermobility. Sometimes it looks like leaning on a hip, crossing those legs like a pretzel, or sleeping like a T- Rex!

Those with hypermobility can be symptomatic or asymptomatic. Often times, people become symptomatic with age (wear and tear) or hormonal changes (puberty, pregnancy, menopause).

If you’re looking for support for your hypermobility symptoms (often times presents as stiffness, extra clicking, pain, fatigue), send me a DM and I’d love to chat about the best next steps for you.

Stability and strength training are essential, but so is nutrition, hydration, and breath!

If you’re hypermobile, you already know your joints can do a lot — the hard part is teaching your body to trust that range instead of white-knuckling through it. As a social-worker-turned-trainer, I care as much about your nervous system as your muscles, so our sessions are foundations-first: breath, control, and pelvic-floor-informed stability work that builds real support around those joints, not just more flexibility you have to brace against.

If you’re tired of pain flares and feeling unstable in your own body, let’s talk. You deserve to move with confidence, not caution. 💛

Falling isn’t just “part of getting older” — it’s often a strength and balance problem, and strength and balance can be trained. That’s the whole idea behind our in-home sessions: we work on the exact things that keep you steady — reaction time, single-leg balance, safe ways to catch yourself — right in the space where falls actually happen. Your kitchen, your stairs, your uneven backyard.

You don’t have to wait for a scare to start. Send us a message and let’s build your stability plan, one grounded step at a time. 🦶
