The journey to Devil’s Bridge in Sedona serves as a metaphor for overcoming fear and embracing personal growth.

From a distance, the path may seem intimidating and even dangerous, causing many to hesitate or turn back, missing out on the breathtaking experience awaiting them. However, those who gather the courage to face their fears often find that the reality is far less daunting than they imagined.

In crossing the path, not only do they conquer the fear itself, but they also unlock a newfound inner strength and resilience. This realization is transformative, challenging them to confront their deepest anxieties and insecurities, and marking the beginning of healing and personal empowerment.

Much like the spectacular view from the top of Devil’s Bridge, the reward for facing fear is a profound sense of accomplishment and the gift of an unforgettable experience.

Thinking about therapy but not sure if it’s “for you”? Here’s the truth: Therapy isn’t just for crisis moments—it’s for anyone who wants to grow, heal, or simply have a safe space to process life.

Here are a few signs you might benefit from therapy:

Welcome February!

Who else took a break from social media or something else at the start of the new year? Did you notice any changes and would you do it again?

When you presence life through the lens of your eyes instead of a screen, the colors, sights, smells, tastes, and sounds are naturally experienced in it’s pure essence. The voice of doubt followed by the tendency to compare loses its power when we remain immersed in the present.

Stephanie Lama is the owner and founder of Unify Behavioral Health, LLC located in Arlington, Virginia, and a licensed mental health therapist in the state of Virginia and Massachusetts.

Throughout the course of her career, she has provided mental health therapy in a variety of outpatient treatment settings to a diverse range of clients, including veterans, first responders, children and adolescents, as well as adults struggling with substance use disorders.

Her most recent role prior to launching her full time private practice was in leading the Office Based Opioid Treatment program (OBOT) as the primary therapist and coordinator at the Department of Human Services in Arlington County. As part of her duties, Stephanie provided individual and group therapy to clients diagnosed with opioid dependence, as well as taught informative trainings on Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to other staff members and clinicians in the Behavioral Health Division.

She is a member of the Northern Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor’s association, where she published an article (linked in bio).

Stephanie is certified as an emergency responder and public safety clinician through the National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Center (NERPSC), and is a baord approved clinical supervisor in the state of Virginia.

As a native Spanish speaker and immigrant herself, she has also dedicated a majority of her practice to providing immigration evaluations and expert witness testimony to a wide range of clients seeking specific forms of immigration relief.

Outside of her work, Stephanie enjoys traveling, playing tennis, being in the ocean, and spending time in her native country of Colombia.
