Confidence isn’t the moment you see it in the mirror. It’s forgetting to look.

That’s the version I’m actually after for my patients. Not a result you have to manage, or angle yourself for in photographs. One you stop noticing, because it simply belongs to you now.

That kind of ease comes from details nobody thinks to ask about. Here’s one from her operation.

When you place an implant, the breast gets a new center, and the highest point of it moves. So part of what I did was move the ar**la to sit centered over that new point, where your eye expects to find it. It isn’t a technique to go shopping for and it isn’t right for everybody. It was the right call for her anatomy, and on the next woman I’d likely make a different one.

She had a breast lift with implants, Mentor MemoryGel for the volume. 2 procedures, one plan.

The side view is my favorite angle on this one. The slope runs clean down from the collarbone, the fullness sits low and soft, and nothing about it shouts. That’s the hardest thing to get right, and it’s the only thing she asked me for.

Three face procedures, what each one actually does.

The goal was never bigger. It was back where it belongs, and full enough to still look like her.

They sound alike, but they’re not the same. Here’s the difference, from a plastic surgeon.

👉 Botox relaxes the muscle that causes the wrinkle. Filler adds back volume you’ve lost.
👉 Lipo removes fat under the skin. A tummy tuck removes loose skin and tightens the muscle.
👉 A hypertrophic scar stays inside the incision. A keloid grows beyond it.

What does “high profile” actually mean?

Implant volume and profile describe different things. Volume, measured in cc, tells you how much the implant holds. Profile describes its projection relative to its base width.

This patient received 350cc high-profile implants. The front view shows the change in fullness, while the side view makes the added projection easier to see.

The same implant can look different on different people because chest width, existing breast tissue, and skin all influence the result. That’s why choosing an implant involves more than picking a cup size or a number.

The implant gave her the size. Her own fat is what made it look soft.

Those are 2 different jobs, and I did both in one operation.

An implant handles volume. It’s predictable, it holds its shape, and it’s where the projection you see from the side comes from. The one thing it can’t do is blur its own edge. When a woman doesn’t have much tissue to cover it, you can sometimes tell where the implant begins and she ends.

So I take her own fat, purify it, and lay it over exactly the places that give an implant away. The upper slope. The cleavage. The outer edge where a shadow forms. It softens the transition until the whole thing reads as breast rather than as implant.

That’s the entire difference between beautiful cleavage and obvious cleavage, and it’s why I’ll happily spend the extra time on a breast augmentation with fat grafting in Miami Beach when the anatomy calls for it.

Give the profile and the oblique more attention than the front. Soft and natural is easy to claim and very hard to fake from the side. Individual results vary.

She wanted to look like herself, just fuller. That is my favorite request to get.

This is 11 weeks out, and she is already there. Natural comes from measuring rather than picking. I sized her implants to the width of her own breast and put the fullness where her frame wanted it.

Most of the early swelling settles by 6 weeks, and the shape keeps softening out to about 6 months.
