We are kicking off this month with a "๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐Œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ ๐–๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ"

Day 1: Deep Breathing Exercises

Most of us are familiar with deep breathing exercises but what we do not do is give them CREDIT for how effective they can be in helping to ground us and help regulate our emotions.

Other benefits include:
1) Manage anxiety.Decreases stress, Increases calm. When you become stressed or anxious, your brain releases cortisol, the โ€œstress hormone.โ€ By taking deep breaths, your heart rate slows, more oxygen enters our blood stream and ultimately communicates with the brain to relax. Deep breathing also ups your endorphins, the โ€œfeel goodโ€ chemical.
2) Improving focus
3) Better sleep

How to do the Deep Breathing Exercises:

Step 1: You can lie on your back in bed or on the floor with a pillow under your head and knees.

OR

Step 2: Sit up straight and pull your shoulders back to relax them.

Step 3: Put one hand on your chest and one hand on your stomach.

Step 4: Breathe in through your nose. Let your belly fill with air.

Step 5: Purse your lips, press gently on your stomach, and exhale.

Step 6: Repeat these steps several times for best results.
