Wood therapy, also known as maderotherapy, is a massage technique that uses specially designed wooden tools to stimulate and manipulate the soft tissue.

It’s commonly used to help:

✨ Encourage circulation
✨ Support fluid movement
✨ Temporarily reduce the appearance of puffiness
✨ Smooth the appearance of cellulite
✨ Relax and stimulate soft tissue
✨ Enhance the appearance of body contours

But here’s what I REALLY want you to understand…

🚨 Wood therapy is NOT the same as post-op lymphatic drainage.

And just because a treatment is popular doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for every stage of recovery.

After plastic surgery, your body needs TIME to heal. Using aggressive pressure or introducing body-sculpting treatments too soon can work against the healing process.

The goal isn’t to do the most. The goal is to do what’s appropriate for YOUR stage of recovery. 🤍

Hey Curvies

This client is four months postop. She went to Dr. Brewster for Lipo only she still to this day get her massages/wood therapy. In this particular session was a little bit different she works a lot, with life working things can cause the body to get out of alignment so what you see here is one side of her body is longer than the other in this session, we did wood therapy with realignment which lengthen her torso dropped down her butt which made her buttocks look even bigger.

Massages and Wood therapy is important along your journey. You can get wood therapy six weeks after your surgery therapy is a great way to maintain your results.

We had a client over this weekend that expressed how she was scammed out of $350. Just wanted to shed some tips on how to avoid getting scam. These are just tips.

🚨 Don’t Let a Cheap Price Cost You More Later 🚨

One of the biggest mistakes I see clients make is booking post-op care at the last minute without doing proper research.

Before booking with any provider:

✔️ Check their social media pages thoroughly
✔️ Read reviews on multiple platforms
✔️ Reach out to previous clients who have commented on their posts
✔️ Ask questions about their experience and qualifications
✔️ Verify they have consistent, professional content and client results
✔️ Don’t make your decision based on price alone

Your recovery is too important to leave in the hands of someone you haven’t properly researched. Taking a few extra minutes to do your homework can save you from unnecessary stress, complications, and disappointment.

Protect your investment. Protect your recovery. Do your research

✨ One of the biggest mistakes I see after surgery is underestimating the recovery process.

Plastic surgery is still surgery. Your body is going under anesthesia, experiencing trauma, and beginning a healing process immediately after the procedure. Recovery is not the time to cut corners on care, compression, hydration, nutrition, or support.

Your body views surgery as an injury and works hard to repair itself. Giving yourself at least 5–7 days of proper rest and care can make a significant difference in your healing journey and overall results.

Investing in your recovery is just as important as investing in your surgery. Protect your results by planning ahead and prioritizing your healing. 💕

The video is graphic, but we love educating and showing what really happens behind the scenes during recovery. This is also a great example of why post-op massages should not be skipped.

Because this video was only about a minute long, I could only include so much, so I wanted to explain a little more here.

Our client was 5 days post-op and had only received 1 massage before seeing us. By the time we got to her, she was extremely swollen, had a lot of fluid buildup, was experiencing shortness of breath, and overall was not feeling well.

As you can see in the video, she went down tremendously after her session and released a lot of old fluid buildup. During the massage, we also focused heavily on deep breathing to help her open her lungs back up and improve her breathing. By the end of the session, she was breathing better, talking better, and overall felt much stronger. Her mom even noticed the difference in her voice right away. She was also finally able to get up and shower on her own.

To clarify, the gel-like fluid shown in the video was fluid buildup. I’ve seen this before from tummy tuck clients in their drains , but this was our first time seeing this much come out directly from an incision.

Since it was unusual in appearance, I had her send it to her surgeon as a precaution, and the response shown was directly from her surgeon

Mistakes Made After Plastic Surgery Pt. 2 ✨

Post-op recovery is just as important as the surgery itself. Here are a few mistakes I see often:

• Overly compressing too early or too aggressively — more compression does not always mean better results. Over-compressing can create uneven healing, discomfort, and other complications.

• Wearing a bra too soon — within the first 7–10 days, avoid wearing a separate bra that can trap fluid and create extra pressure points under your faja. Instead, choose a faja with built-in bra support if approved for your stage of recovery.

• Not protecting your skin — wearing a soft t-shirt or protective garment under your faja can help prevent friction, irritation, and painful faja burns.

• Aggressive massages — lymphatic massages should feel uncomfortable at times, but they should not be overly aggressive or traumatizing to the body. Recovery is about supporting drainage and healing, not causing more inflammation.
