I developed melasma during my pregnancies, and it never really left. I quickly learned that melasma is a chronic form of hyperpigmentation driven by overactive pigment-producing cells—and that sunlight, visible light, heat, hormones, and irritation can all make it worse.
There’s no overnight fix. For me, the biggest difference has come from consistently keeping my skin protected, cool, and calm while still enjoying my life.
That experience has shaped so much of what I’ve created at delaheart. I designed our UPF50+ Visor to give my face the physical shade I need to be outdoors, and developed our facial tools and rituals to help me care for, depuff, cool, and support my skin at home.
I don’t want melasma to stop me from going to the beach, working out, traveling, or living my life. I just learned how to do those things while being smarter about my skin—and I’ve crafted DLH products with exactly that in mind.
So today, at the peak of summer, I’m sharing the golden rules I live by to help keep my melasma under control. 🤎
Protect. Cool. Calm. Consistency is everything.
With beauty & gratitude,
