A diagnosis is only as useful as the question behind it.

What I often see is that when something external triggers a neurological response, and that response gets labeled as a permanent condition, the real cause never gets explored. And the path forward stays hidden.

The difference between "you have bipolar disorder" and "your nervous system was injured by a trigger" is not semantic. It completely changes what becomes possible.

When we find the actual cause, the body knows what to do.

Like many Telugu people, I am totally into 'Virosh'. Loved their movie 'dear comrade'. As a holistic and spiritual psychiatrist, this movie showed the hero's journey arc beautifully for both of the lead characters.

And came across a short video where actress Kriti Sanon was lamenting how she cannot keep up with actress Rashmika's gym routine.

Ayurveda explains it on basis of your innate constitution, Prakriti.

So, Kriti, you need a gym, diet and lifestyle routine that is meant for you, according to your prakriti.

What I often see is that many people carrying a psychiatric label are actually carrying the imprint of an environment that was never safe enough to simply grow in. When a child's nervous system spends years in survival mode, the developmental windows for socializing, self-regulation, and emotional learning get bypassed. Not because something is wrong with the child. Because all of their resources were directed elsewhere.

That is the T in my DTT™ framework. Trauma. And it does not always look like what we expect.

Before accepting a diagnosis as a permanent identity, it is worth asking what the nervous system was responding to. And what becomes possible when it finally feels safe enough to come out of defense.

Treatment-resistant is a conclusion drawn from a limited set of tools.

What I find, consistently, is that the people labeled this way are almost always people whose gut health was never evaluated, whose trauma was never explored, whose toxin burden was never investigated.

The approach was not wrong because the person was too difficult. It was incomplete because the right questions were never asked.

When we finally ask them, the picture changes.

I was taught the same thing in medical school. That most mental illnesses are not recoverable from. That the goal is management, not restoration.

I no longer believe that. And 15 years of clinical experience is why.

What I have found is that when root causes are genuinely explored, Diet, Trauma, Toxins, the body has a remarkable capacity to rebalance. The mind-body-spirit system wants to return to equilibrium. It just needs the right conditions.

Settling for “functional” when “thriving” is possible is not compassion. It is an incomplete investigation.

“You are not a psychiatrist. I don’t even know what you are or what to call you. You basically replaced all 15 doctors I was seeing.”

I understand why she said that. And honestly, it made me smile.

What I often see is that people who have been failed by the system are not difficult cases. They are people whose root causes were never investigated. Every doctor addressed a symptom. Not one asked what was creating all of them.

When we finally looked at the full picture, Diet, Trauma, Toxins, things began to shift within weeks. Not because of anything complicated. Because we were finally addressing the right thing.

That is what happens when you stop collecting diagnoses and start looking for the source.

Most therapy sessions keep you stuck.

You sit there talking about your pain, waiting for external change to fix what’s inside you.

That’s disempowering.

Here’s what breaks depression: taking action.

Micro-actions. Getting out of bed. Running an errand. Moving your body. These shift everything because they tell your nervous system: “I have power.”

You stop waiting and you become the change.

This works for most people.

But here’s what I see clinically: some rumination won’t stop no matter how much you act.

You’re doing everything right and the stuck thoughts still won’t budge.

That’s not a behavioral problem. That’s biological.

That’s where Diet, Trauma, and Toxins matter.

Some rumination (like OCD rumination) is driven by inflammation and dysregulation.

It won’t respond to behavior change alone.

You need to address what’s actually driving it at the root.

So the answer is both:

Taking action to reclaim your power and healing your body if the rumination persists.

You’re not broken. You’re not lazy. You just might need to address the biology underneath.

Sharing my thoughts after my masterclass (Truth about OCD). Thank you to all who signed up, joined and kept the conversation going with your insightful shares and questions 🙏.

I covered a lot of ground yesterday. Root causes (of course DTT framework 🙂), lab tests, healing process, key shifts needed, etc.

For those who could not make it in person, replay is available. Some of you may want to hear it again! Comment Replay for the access.

If there is one thing I want you to take with you, it is this: your wound is your portal for transformation.

OCD is not a life sentence. It is your body asking to be understood. When we address the root causes, healing becomes inevitable.

If my message resonates, then there is an offer (end on Sunday, May 31st) to work with me and my team.

Bottom line - reclaiming your health, well-being, and joy is an inside job and it is possible! Much love ❤️
