May is International Mediterranean Diet Month, and it’s a great reminder that healthy living does not have to be complicated.

The Mediterranean diet is one of the most recommended eating patterns for heart health, blood sugar control, brain health, and reducing inflammation. It focuses on simple, whole foods like fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, whole grains, fish, nuts, and legumes while also encouraging movement, connection, and enjoying meals with others.

At the Wellness Coalition of Palo Pinto County, we believe wellness is about progress, sustainability, and finding healthy habits that fit your life. Small changes over time can have a big impact on your long-term health.

May is International Mediterranean Diet Month!

The Mediterranean diet is one of the most researched and recommended ways of eating, linked to better heart health, improved blood sugar control, reduced inflammation, sharper thinking, and a lower risk of chronic disease. Best of all, it focuses on enjoying food, not feeling deprived.

This lifestyle encourages:

• Whole grains and legumes
• Fish and lean proteins
• Staying active and sharing meals with others
