📢 UPDATE REGARDING HUMANA & MARY WASHINGTON
I want to provide an update and clarification regarding my recent post about Humana and Mary Washington.
On Wednesday, August 26, I spoke directly with Humana Agent Support. During that conversation, I was advised by the Agent Support Representative that Humana and Mary Washington had reached an agreement and that Humana would be in-network as of September 1, 2026.
I was very excited to hear this news, as I know how important this issue is to so many Medicare members in our community. Based on the information I received, I shared the news with some of my clients and posted it here so that others could be informed as well.
However, I contacted both Humana and Mary Washington again this morning to independently confirm the information. With today being the final day of negotiations, this remains a very active situation. At this time, Humana has not denied the information I received, but they also have not confirmed an agreement with me.
I also contacted Mary Washington Healthcare’s Customer Service team and listened to their current message regarding Humana.
At this point, I want to be clear that an agreement has not been officially confirmed to me.
I sincerely apologize for any confusion my earlier post may have caused. I believed the information I received from my source was accurate, but I recognize that I should have taken the additional step of independently verifying it before sharing it publicly.
My goal has always been to keep my clients and our community informed about important Medicare news and changes that may affect their healthcare coverage. I will continue to do that, while also making every effort to verify information before posting.
We are all hopeful that Humana and Mary Washington will reach an agreement that allows Humana members to continue receiving care at Mary Washington and that this negotiation ultimately benefits the members who depend on these healthcare services. ❤️
I will continue to monitor the situation and will provide an update as soon as confirmed information becomes available.
Thank you for your understanding, and again, I apologize for any confusion.
