Hope for Hadley Follow us here for updates on Hadley as we learn to navigate ATRT and the world of childhood brain cancer!

Early yesterday morning, our sweet Hadley James went to be with the Lord. How thoughtful of her to wait until New Years Eve so that we could celebrate her life lighting up the sky. She would have loved watching them. (Probably from inside the house where it wasn’t so loud!)

We covet your prayers during this time as we navigate life without our goosey girl. She was the best big sister, and Banks and Murphy Kate are missing her so incredibly much. And while we are all absolutely heartbroken, we find comfort in Gods promises. We are thankful she is no longer scared or hurting, and that she is finally at peace.

Over the last couple days, Hadley has declined much faster than we would have liked. Yesterday we made the decision to transfer her care inpatient to help keep her comfortable. Over the last 24 hours, we have worked closely with her team to get her nausea and pain under control. She is still a little restless, but we are doing everything we can to help her.

She is still waking up every so often wanting to play with slime and asking for Banks to come see her. Oh, and of course, she’s asked if we can go to target tonight!

We don’t know how long we have, but we are thankful for every second we have with her! Please continue to pray with us for her comfort, that she is pain free, and is able to get the rest her body deserves.

This is not the update we were hoping for, but that seems to be the trend lately. The tumors on her spine have stabilized. But, there are so many new tumors to her brain scattered all over, and the tumors that were there before are so much bigger. We know that the time we have left is extremely limited, extremely. Our plan for now is to continue treatment through the holidays as long as her body and quality of life allow for it. This is to hopefully allow her to have an amazing Christmas surrounded by everyone who loves her. She is still running and playing and living the best little life we can give her. She does frequently have headaches and does get tired more easily now than before, but she is still managing very well with the help of comfort measures. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, prayed for Hadley and our family, sent gifts and everything else y’all have done for us. We appreciate it more than we could ever express. Please continue to keep her in your prayers that we can keep her comfortable and happy.

Hadley has had a very big week! We started out on Monday driving to Memphis, and then Tuesday, Hadley had a lab check and treatment! She handled treatment like a champ, and then we headed upstairs to play for a bit! On Wednesday, we moved from housing at the hospital to a hotel downtown. We hung out around the hotel most of the day and let the kids rest and play. Thursday we went to the marathon Expo and checked in for the race, and also hit up the candy store on Beale street! Friday, Hadley showed some of our friends around the hospital, and then we went shopping at the Galleria! Friday evening we were able to see some more friends and hang out at the hotel, prepping for race day!

Yesterday morning we woke up bright and early for the race! Dad and the kids took off walking from downtown to the St. Jude campus to watch part of the race and wave at our friends as they ran through! After I ran (walked🤪) through campus, they headed upstairs to play and warm up. After hanging out for a little while, Hadley decided she wanted to meet me at the finish line to help me cross again, so they packed up and headed back down to the finish line! I continued the race and met up with them just before the finish line where Hadley hopped over the fence and we finished together! After the race, we enjoyed some more time with friends and family, and the kids were able to open some Christmas gifts, too!

Today we packed up a weeks worth of chaos in our room, and headed home! Along the way, we stopped at a reptile expo in Southaven and the kids all loved it! We’ve really had the best week, but we are ready to be home for a few days! We will only be home for a few nights before heading back to Memphis for scans. Hadley will be sedated Friday for scans of her brain and spine to see if the current treatment she is on is helping to give her any stability. Please be in prayer with us that her tumors are holding stable, and that we can continue to give her more good days while preserving her quality of life.
