The “Never Miss 2 Days” rule is one of my favorite strategies for building healthy habits 💪
Why? Because it takes away the pressure and builds in flexibility.
Life is going to happen. You’ll miss a workout, eat off-plan, or have an off day — and that’s okay.
The key is getting back to your healthy habits before one missed day turns into a week. 🔁

If you ever struggle on the weekends, this one is for you! 🙋

Monday through Friday? You’re good.

But then Friday night rolls around, it’s like someone flips a switch.

By Sunday night, you feel bloated, tired, achy, and mad at yourself… and feeling like it’s time for yet another Monday when you’re “starting over again.”

Here’s what might be causing it:

1. You might be way too strict during the week.

2. You have zero structure on weekends. (Most common reason!)

On weekends, we don’t usually have a schedule. Meal times are different, your bedtime is different, your activities are different. Without a structure, it can be harder to follow through on your healthy habits.

Here’s what I do:
I add more flexibility during the week, and then I have a plan for the weekend to give myself a little structure (nothing crazy, just a plan for my meals, workouts, and sleep).

It’s a relief to have your weekdays and weekends connected with some consistency… and it’s an even BIGGER relief not to feel like every Monday is a new start date.

Don’t tell anyone this… 🤫�But some days, I REALLY don’t feel like food prepping.
My motivation is gone.�My energy is low.�And suddenly I have a very convincing list of excuses. 😅
But then I ask myself ONE question:
👉 “What would tomorrow me thank me for doing right now?”
And honestly…�that question changes everything.
Because suddenly it’s not about how I feel in this moment.
It’s about waking up tomorrow morning relieved, proud, and thinking:
✨ “I’m so glad I showed up for myself.”�✨ “I’m so glad my meals are already ready.”�✨ “I’m so glad I didn’t let one hard moment throw me off track.”
Because this was never just about one meal.
It’s about building trust with yourself. 💯
The kind of trust that says:�“No matter what kind of day I’m having… I still follow through.”
And when you truly trust yourself?�It’s amazing how much more confident, capable, and consistent you become. ❤️‍🔥
So this is your reminder:�You do NOT need to feel motivated to keep promises to yourself.
Go get it done. 👊

“Why do I always do this to myself?” 😩
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this from clients…
And honestly? I used to say it to myself too.
You’re doing great:
🥗 Eating well
💪 Workouts are consistent
✨ Feeling good
Then suddenly…
you go completely off the rails like you’ve hit self-destruct mode.
But here’s what I’ve learned after years of coaching women over 40:
It’s usually NOT self-sabotage.
It’s usually one of these 3 things👇
😬 1. You’re white-knuckling it
If you’ve been “being good” and following a bunch of rigid rules, your brain eventually rebels.
Not because you lack discipline…
Because what you’re doing isn’t sustainable long term.
🍷 2. You start thinking, “I’ve earned it.”
One treat turns into a weekend.
The weekend turns into “I’ll restart Monday.”
And suddenly you feel like you ruined everything.
😳 3. You’re scared of what happens if it actually works
Real change can feel vulnerable.
Your brain would rather keep you in the familiar than risk stepping into a new identity.
So what actually helps? 👇
✨ Building flexibility into your routine from the START
✨ Learning your patterns instead of judging them
✨ Creating habits that still work when life gets messy
Because if your plan only works when everything is perfect…
it’s not a real-life plan.
And the moment you hear:
“I’ve earned it…”
that’s your cue to pause, check in, and reconnect with your bigger goals. 🎯

I met one of my fitness idols a while back, and someone asked them:

“What’s the best nutrition and workout plan for strong and lean?

I was SO excited to hear their answer. I mean, they know EVERYTHING about strength training.

Their response?

“The plan you’ll actually DO.”

At first, I was like... wait, that’s it? 😂

But the more I thought about it? Mind. Blown.

Because here’s what they were really saying:
The “perfect” plan that you never start or can’t stick with is worth NOTHING.

But a simple, “good enough” strategy that you show up for consistently changes everything.

Because simple is what you’ll actually DO when:
✔️ Life gets busy
✔️ Your motivation is on vacation
✔️ You’re tired
✔️ You’re traveling

The best approach isn’t the most advanced one.

It’s the one you can follow.

I used to spend up 60 to 90 minutes at the grocery store for my “big shop” every week… wandering aisles like I was on some kind of scavenger hunt.
Nearly every busy woman over 40 trying to feed herself and her family a healthy diet can probably relate.

I’d pick something up, flip it over, read the label, put it back, grab something else, compare them, Google an ingredient I didn’t recognize… and the whole thing made “eating healthy” feel way harder than it needed to be.

What changed? I started looking for just a few key things that actually matter.

Now I’m in and out in 30 mins with a cart full of stuff I actually feel good about.

Here’s what I focus on now:
✅ Keeping a short list of staple foods I buy every time
✅ Recognizing marketing tricks that make ultra-processed foods look healthy
✅ Scanning labels for two or three red flags
✅ Choosing foods that can work across multiple meals during the week

Not only has it made shopping easier, I’m saving a ton of time every week.
