Elder neglect is not always obvious.

It may not be a single event or a clear point of failure. It can look like:

-understaffing
-delayed care
-no one having enough time to notice changes or warning signs

In long-term care settings, staffing levels, workload, and system pressures all play a role in the quality of care residents receive. When those systems are strained, risk increases.

And the people most affected are often those with the least ability to advocate for themselves.

These are not just individual failures. They are system-level issues that require system-level attention. Until these systems are designed differently, families and their advocates are often the last line of protection for the people they love.
