🚨 Urgent Action Needed! 🚨

Alabama’s HB195 aims to mandate abstinence-only education, a policy that has failed our youth time and again. Research consistently shows that comprehensive s*x education is far more effective in reducing teen pregnancies and s*xually transmitted infections.

Abstinence-only programs do not prepare our young people to make informed decisions about their health and relationships. They are often based on moral judgments rather than scientific facts and fail to provide information on safe s*x practices and consent.

👉 Swipe to see what you can do to help and why it’s crucial to speak out now!

✅ Tell your Senator to VOTE NO on HB195. Our youth deserve access to complete and accurate information to lead healthy lives.

🌿 Today, May 5th, Honeycomb Justice stands with heavy hearts on the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons. 🕊️

This day serves as a solemn reminder of the countless indigenous lives lost and the ongoing struggles their communities face due to systemic injustices. It also calls us to remember the enduring pain of boarding school survivors, whose stories bear witness to a history of cultural devastation.

🔍 We demand government accountability and insist on comprehensive measures to address and prevent these injustices. It’s time for transparent investigations, enforcement of protective legislation, and the implementation of policies that ensure the safety and sovereignty of indigenous peoples.

💬 Join us in calling for action. Let’s use our collective voices to push for policies that uphold the dignity and rights of every indigenous person. Check our bio link for ways to get involved and for resources to educate and empower your advocacy.

🌼 Together, we can catalyze change. We stand committed to fighting for justice and for the futures that indigenous communities rightfully deserve.

Thank you for these resources ✊🏾

📚✨ As we bid farewell to , I reflect on the first time I walked by, seeing that sign on the street - it was like finding a beacon when I needed it most. This wasn’t just a bookstore; it was a place where I found community, a sense of belonging, and a home away from home. 🏠❤️

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone at 1977 Books for being a vital part of our lives and for all the memories and lessons shared within those walls. You’ve been more than just a bookstore; you’ve been a life force in Montgomery. Though your doors are closing, your legacy will linger in the hearts of all those you’ve touched. 🌟📖

According to the Wall Street Journal Rashida Tlaib is one of the only Palestinian-American representatives.

You’re not alone if you’re waiting for Biden’s actions to align with his words, you’re not alone in demanding a lasting ceasefire.

If we push, change is possible. Bettie Mae Fiks is a great reminder of that change!

Written in 1993, Parable of the Sower takes place in the summer of 2024! 10/10 recommend!

The book explores the collapse of the illusion of separate that suburbia and capitalism creates in the United States.

Will you be giving it a read this summer?

All students have to do is complete a circle request form if interested in arranging a facilitated circle for their community and USF will schedule a consultation meeting to discuss the request.
